To put in one sentence: make the positional assignments on the start roster less random. True? Yes exactly! I think this is a great suggestion - I majorly messed up ( the first of many times ) by making a pigs breakfast when re-organising the Roster - and kept on re-assigning almost every time I read the manual or an interesting forum. |

Why don't we just ask the managers that leave why they've left. They have to register their e-mails when they join so just send them an e-mail requesting feedback when they go bot. Sure most won't reply but you may get something useful from those that do.

One of the first things I did when I came to the forum was to talk about this very issue. There's not a single one of us who doesnt have a life outside of this game and given the learning curve there are plenty of things new managers must do. Having to make a playbook from scratch (already fixed) and having to stifle through every single player on the roster to determine if they are playing at their optimum position are complete wastes of time for new managers. It was by far the biggest deterrent I had when i first started and it shows in the frequency (lack there of) in which I logged in because I absolutely dreaded going through it. I'm not saying you have to start the teams better in skill than they are currently but at the very least have players playing in positions they are comfortable in so the new manager has some sort of direction. I'm not sure how this wasnt fixed at the time of the intro playbook. |

I disagree. Changing the positions gives a noob a chance to be better than another noob. Nothing gets you into a game like a sense of accomplishment

Well i will say that I almost quit a few weeks ago!! It was because i was faced with bigger teams than mind, and i was having the socks beat off of me!! That alone will calls a newbe to quit!!! Here is what sneaky_minotaur wrote I do think new managers would benefit from a 'better' team ??I dont think that would be a great ideal!! Give a bot team and let them build the team as they want it,but dont match them with bigger teams than their %rate.Like mind overall is @ 37%.You put a team that is 57% the lesser team will loose!! But this is a great topic to talk about!!! And to add to this most memebers that enter this game has come from a different on-line game, why else they would be here??

So do both.
Keep it as is,...but give the player an "optimize player psotions" button or something they can use to have the game automatically assign players positions based on what they would be best. That way those that wat to do every little thing temselves can,...but those that dont or dont have time have an option besides walking away. |

So an option to:
- do it yourself, potentially making big mistakes, or - game does it for you and gets it right Haha, not much of a balance there - it would provide immediate and definitive info regarding what skills are best for what positions, something most of us spent several seasons working out! |

imo the playbook is the hardest thing to do. You've like 2 months to decide where you want to position your players. While the playbook is a more urgent thing to do and more complicated.
