If my opponent, from research, usually lines up his star WR on the right, to match up my best CB against him, id need to place him on the left? IE the game engine places the players opposite one another - so their left would equal my right, and vice versa?

As far as I understood your question: yes.

At the bottom of the page you can find how the players are set up in which formation. Hope it helps...

Are the L and R designations from the perspective of the respective Unit? So WRR is the right WR from the perspective of the Offense, and CBR is the right CB from the perspective of the Defense, correct?

Thats a much better way to phrase the question i was asking!

As i read it - and what seems to be the case but i wanted confirmation - yes - so you look at the Offense line up from 'behind' them - and look at the Defense line up from 'behind them' - so players listed as Left and Right will actually be on your left and right - but when facing each other, Left will be up against Right, and Right up against Left!

At least thats what i think..or hope!

The O is from the perpective of the QB, while the D is from the perspective of the MLB. So yes, the CB-R faces the WR-L

I would caution that trying to do that would only be helpful to start the game. When substitutions start that wr and your cb could end up on either side together or apart....
