Barkevious Mingo ..... that's the weirdest name I ever heard, but remember it ... because this guy is looking like a future superstar at DE/Pass-Rushing OLB

check this video (below), the sack at approx 3 minutes 04 seconds is extraordinary

That particular sack doesn't impress me much. I can sack a qb too if nobody blocks me. His name however impresses me very much

Cool name, lots of poor blocking, but also a couple of nice plays.

Love the name! He might just take 1st place on my favorite NFL names list!

Move over Yancey Thigpen we've got a new winner!

However my all time favorite sports name is still:

God Shammgod

hes definitely got the brains to be a top notch d-lineman; especially on the sack; someone above me posted that they weren't impressed since he was free to the qb but thats mainly because at the last second he moved over just enough to get the angle and it just so happened the o-line didn't account for that, not only that but he seems to know how to mind his gap and give the rb fits

Yes ... that's precisely the point .... he shifted inside at exactly the right moment, it confused the O-Lineman who then tried to pick-up the LB behind Mingo ..... by which time, Mingo had flattened the QB.

The other point worth mentioning is the superb acceleration of Mingo over the first few yards ...he's as quick as even the quickest NFL pass-rushers that I've seen (if not quicker) ...... IMO, all he needs is some good coaching and he could make a real impact in the NFL.

40 yard time = 4.60

40 yard time is almost irrelevant for DE's/Pass-Rushers ..... all the damage is done in 10 yards or less.

Actualy the damage is done in ~5 yards where he either beats the OT based on speed only or he doesn't and he needs to use his hands, spins or juke to get by him or simply bull rush him back to his own QB.

The 40 yards dash is still where it's at tho (IMO). It doesn't mean scouts don't take into acount 10 yards dash, but players are expected to maintain speed for more then 10 yards. Despite position.
