So far, the season 7 game engine is boosting my team. In season 6 i acquired three draft picks for the defensive secondary that resulted in little benefit. The MLB led the team in interceptions last season. In three games. my d-backs have shut down the opposition passing and made interceptions. still the linebackers are getting theirs, but they have lots of competition.

I did another medium passing test to see what happens with this engine... scrimmage game last night:

BOth teams had the following offensive playbook:

first few lines - punts and FGs
then
less than 1min in quarter to go - gun 4WR pass medium any direction
less than 2 min to go - gun 4WR rush any direction
less than 4 min to go - gun 4WR pass medium any direction
the rest of each quarter - gun 4WR rush any direction

and defensive pb set to:
always 5-3-3, no blitz, expecting rush

The idea being, the offenses would only throw at the end of each quarter, having spent the 1st 11 minutes of each quarter solely rushing, and then they would spend the last 4 minutes passing, then rushing, then passing - to try to keep the defense from tuning in to the pass too much.

And the results:

Combined QBs stats - 56 attempts, 7 completions, 26 dropped passes, 2 TDs, 3 Interceptions, 175 yards, 0 sacks

So even when the defense is in total rush stop mode, in a terrible formation, MEDIUM PASSING DOES NOT WORK!

The only way I can really get more info now is:

- if Pete separates 'passes dropped' from 'passes defended' in the stats, so we can see where the imbalance stems from

- or I play a scrimmage with a depth chart that has the worst secondary possible (trainee linemen at CB for example), as that game was starters vs starters... a 60% pass attack vs a 60% pass defense
