i think i got the NC west locked up. a computer opponent gives me at least a tie for the lead no matter what happens, but last week of season will be against a guy who could be playing me for the division title i believe.
feel good about my chances to move up to division 1 next season |

no offense, but your team needs another season or two of preparation before 1.1 will be a good place for you. you'd be very likely to drop down after a season and a 1-15 season can make some people quit the game.

i'm fully aware i'll get murdered in div 1 but don't you make more $ per game and more from your sponsors? pretty decent incentive to move up even if i do get destroyed and have to move back to div 2.

Last 2 rounds are gonna be interesting in the NC. Cornhuskers will probably take number 1 spot, Brazabrantes or me 2nd, depending on last 2 games. Now that he lost, I have some breathing space and can probably afford to lose one of the last 2 games. 5th playoff spot goes to who ends up second in our div. So that's places 1, 2 and 5. Wardogs will get place 3 or 4, depending on the outcome of NC West. The most likely outcome i see is this: Bieberhole wins both games and takes the div and 3rd playoff spot. That means that Wardogs go to place 4. Last place will be taken by Eagles, Black Bulls or Ravens. It could be decided by point difference. Palermo will probably lose against Cornhuskers, Torino against Bieberhole, and Paris Ravens could slip in either of remaining two games. If they don't, they're going to playoffs. So to sum it up: 1. Cornhuskers 2. League of Heroes 3. Bieberhole 4. Wardogs 5. Brazabrantes 6. Ravens |

I haven't done the math but my gut tells me a 2-14 season in 1.1 and a 12-4 season in 2.x could make around the same amount of money because of the hit on attendance you get from losing a lot in your last 10 matches. |

The current situation is that Sponsorship and League Attendances in Div 2.x are capped at 85% (max) of the Div 1 level. In reality, this means that a struggling Div 1 team and a successful Div 2 team will have similar financial income. The League Attendance is based upon form, therefore a struggling Div 1 team might be at a similar level to the +/- 122,000 maximum of a Div 2 team. Sponsorship is similar .... the base figure is 85% of the Div 1 number, but a successful Div 2 team will be getting more win bonuses than a struggling Div 1 team..... so this evens it out. Bottom line .... financial income (from Stadium Attendance & Sponsorship) will be broadly similar between a struggling Div 1 team and a successful Div 2 team. As for "getting murdered in Div 1" ..... it might happen and it might not. There have been teams that finished 9-7, 10-6, 11-5 etc in their first 1.1 season. Unless you're clairvoyant, you can't predict certain factors that make a big difference to your final League position :- ....... the number of bots in the league (currently one, but heading towards two), whether you land in a 'tough' or 'easy' (relatively speaking) Division, whether you get a 'tough' or 'easy' League schedule etc etc. It's up to you ..... I had only 9 regular season League games in 2.2 before promoting to 1.1, and I don't regret it. Others have chosen to stay in 2.x for 1/2/3/4 seasons to 'build'. There is no right or wrong way. |
