Sure Pete

Every Team got needs but the need of Oliner should be 5 times higher for all Teams than for a QB cause simply you need 5 times more
I donĀ“t speak of primiary needs i just talk about the simple amount of Players on the field.

And btw i still have all needs on Defense cause with the last drafts i only got Offense players so i am not interessted in OL or QB they are just the example because of the difference amount you need on the field

Close.

I'd say the average team has ~ 3 QBs and ~ 10 OL

It would seem the best way to distribute the draft would be like that with a little randomness.

Where are all the OL supposed to come from?

Well this issue would be solved if the draft player positions and their randomness would be separate per league. New managers go to div 3.x, you could have more QBs there. But people in div 1.1 have their QB already, you could limit that position to, say 4 per draft?

Tbh, I see no reason for it to be different anywhere.

Somewhere in the first few seasons you'll get a QB either thru draft or TM.

When new NFL franchises start up the NFL cannot just create a bunch of shiny new QBs.

But I must admit that the game probably demands that a team has 2 very good QBs due to the way energy works so this is perhaps exaggerating the problem a bit.

I also think that the draft should at least simulate the distribution of positions amongst the formations available in RZA. With some random variation off that base look. That is exactly how the real Draft also works: There are more lineman coming out each year (on average) than QBs, beacuse the college teams - surprisignly - look pretty much like NFL teams in terms of general types of presonell groupings.

No one suggested that this should be adjusted each year according to some vets.

Typically a squad of 50 will have a balance something like:

2-3 QBs
1-2 FBs
2-4 RBs
2-4 TEs
5-7 WRs
7-10 OLs
6-9 DL
6-9 LB
3-5 CB
3-5 SF
K
P

In my opinion, the draft ratio should reflect that, with a small amount of randomness. There's little sense in drafts having 14 QBs and 4 DL for example, when starting lineups demand at least 32 QBs and 96 DLs.

Edit:

And this is what we have in Sea Devils 1.1
QB 14
FB 5
RB 6
WR 15
TE 4
OL 13
DL 5
LB 11
CB 7
SF 9
G 2
KR 1
K 3
P 1

Swap the ratio of QBs and DLs and it would be just about right.

I could be wrong JohnnyP but I think Pete said he does have it like the ratios you suggest.. the only difference being those players being in a broad database and from that base comes the allocation to draft leagues....
