Yes, you got him cheaply, but anything less than 50 Int relegates a QB to no better than backup status, and with his strength probably capped under 40, he's now 3rd string... with that vision meaning a big wage!

I know his int is low and he'll never be a top player, but...

C'mon, man. Just admit you bought a lame, cognitively challenged and overpriced bucket full of faeces for 600k..

He'll be my starter QB for the next few seasons, so erm no Some of the transfers that go on and I'm left having to defend getting this guy for 600k lol

I'm glad swordpriest noticed my post. People keep suggesting these kind of systems but they have a much bigger flaw than the current one which could result in a lot of managers going bust and leaving the game...

But heres the thing with your post.... Its not a viable reason for why we shouldnt have a new system. I'm sure almost all the power players on the TM from time to time have more money on bids than they do under the mattress.. and its done precisely because they know they are not going to win every bid (which should not be the case in bidding). I dont think under any system the max amount in bids should exceed the amount of money at that particular time in the managers own bank account. I mean I know why its done and I cant fault the reasons behind it I'm just saying in my estimation its makes for a convoluted and disingenuous market.

I made an attempt at creating a list of the suggestions, it's not complete in any way. I also added some of my own suggestions to it:

E-bay style:
- limited or unlimited to your current funds
- set deadlines
- Standard starting price?

Hidden bids:
- limited or unlimited to your current funds
- offer a salary + a signing bonus + a contract? The player can take all these factors into consideration to decide which bid he accepts.
- Placing a bid costs?
- - Different visibility on bids and prices for them. For example, a visible bid for let's say $10k is fully visible to other managers, while a bid for $50k is completely invisible. Could have a semi-visible option as well, where you can see that he has recieved a bid, but not the details of it.

Tweaking the current system:
- seller can set a minimum initial price
- less time extension when bidding close to deadline, ie from 2 minutes to 1
- increase % of minimum overbid. This is at +5% currently, raise to +10%?
- you can only release players to the free market, not sell them for profit

@ Shimauma - great start. On e-bay style I would like to add 'standard starting price' as a point for consideration - i.e. just as in the current system there is a very low (or fixed) starting price on the auction.

I mention this not because I feel it is needed, but I recall Pete previously saying there was a concern in the past about cheating and collusion via selling a rubbish player at a very high starting price, that ended up going to only one bidder - in other words it was just an elaborate way to move money from one team to another.

the problem is some people like to babysit teams instead of making them manage. also if your team hasnt got you shouldnt bid it. the system shouldnt allow it either. things are slowly being automated but not the TM!? not changing the current system is not making the playing field even. I have been here long enough to read post after post about making all chances as great as possible.
the current system doesnt do that it assists the TM campers.
