Yep, make them more expensive!

I'd like to see the whole restriction lifted completely (including ACs being able to have more CP than the HC)!
that remains as a dream then...

Yes, you got him cheaply, but anything less than 50 Int relegates a QB to no better than backup status, and with his strength probably capped under 40, he's now 3rd string... with that vision meaning a big wage!

I know his int is low and he'll never be a top player, but...

C'mon, man. Just admit you bought a lame, cognitively challenged and overpriced bucket full of faeces for 600k..

I brought this up with the trade system and I think it applies here too. The problem I see with those kind of systems is people leaving themselves over exposed. Especially this time of the season.

For eg there are 11 players on my bidlist for today. At the moment because they finish at different times I can bid on someone, if I don't get them I can move on with the next.

With the kind of system suggested I make my max bid on all 11 players assuming I value all of them at 40mil that means I have 440mil exposed. At lot more than whats in my bank. You need to have a way of withdrawing your bids at any stage of the transfer. But then you'll get people complaining that they don't have the freedom to bid on all the players they are interested in... Like in my 11 I might have to just go for 2/3 due to exposure. If it turns out one of the guys I left out went for 20mil, then I'd be pissed. And if you have guys withdrawing bids last minute it becomes messy and annoying for the seller.

I could see a lot of teams going bankrupt.

IMO I still think the best way to move forward is to try tweak the current system. If that fails and people aren't happy then we can start thinking of a new system.

This one particularly caught my eye. Basically whatever system is in place should take into account a player is going to win every auction upon their last bid therefore not allowing said manager to overdraft his funds in the process. The fact that a manager right now can bid on X amount of players for XXXXXXXXXXXXX amount of cash and that be seen as a Pro in the systems favor is just out of whack.

Serious bids only in that you know every time your bidding with someone it isnt some sort of gut reaction or a manager hedging his bets against another transfer target.

I read Jack's suggestion and I never really thought of not having sellers just pure free agents. Its basically a pure NFL system but the game doesnt operate like that enough to make the economics work. It would seem the only way to gain income would be by winning games and theres only a handful of managers that can seriously accomplish that whereas we all have quality players to sell. And given the inexact science of the draft system (IE its possible to get 3QBs) not allowing managers to sell their assets can cripple some for seasons.

Again I think we're ignoring the sellers here still. We know many young managers build up their stadiums etc through selling early draftees. I think the goal is to get the most managers active in the most fair system (in regards to time NOT cash). I'm not against the attrition style of bidding by doing two rounds... but I'd just like to add a little wrinkle just for the fun of it. Lets have the seller able ask for an initial price of sell for as much money he sees the players worth... if managers want to bid they can not go below that bid (think Euro soccer). The pivot is that if no manager wants him at that price... they player is released to the database (this fate is debatable.. but it would be fun).

What this would mean is a selling manager would be forced to look at the going rates of similar players before he puts a for sale sign up. He would have to weigh the player's perceived value vs the value that player has to the rest of the Kingdom if he wants max cash in return. This way the seller has some force in the TM with the tact of the seller having a nice impact in the overall transaction.

So the increase of the coaches's wages is a serious thought?
Do you think 70-80 millions per year is a realistic coaches payroll in a sport simulation?
