Aggregrate totals are not a great way to represent the best league ATM. Perhaps after breaking it down again it will yield the same results? I would break up the seasons based on the engine. Using the original engine Dragons were tearing it up in season 4. Wasn't the first engine change season 5? Maybe 6? In any case the engine might affect the dominance of a league. Just throwing it out there. Not really concerned either way.

You are surely right there may be better ways to build this ranking. I had a bit of time, was bored and came up with this version. Besides, the thread is called "the most successful", and not "the best" league in RZA.

If you want to create a different/better one, please feel free to chip in.

Probably one of the best ways to get an idea of what the strongest league is would be to include SC in the Global ranking. That way we at least get some direct comparisons.

First change was after the season rollover at the end of season 5.

Maybe an 8 or 16 team friendly cup can settle this once and for all

That is what the CoC is supposed to settle, theoretically.

This will never be settled once and for all!

Top teams from each league are very much alike, they are powerhouses in the game, and each time they face each other anyone can win it. Organizing a FC for that purpose won't prove a thing. Besides, Fire top teams dominated the competition last season, so right now it is the top league based on that. Aldo one can argue that the top league is not only it's top teams, right? It's a never ending argument.

But if you ain't saying Fire 1.1 is the strongest league... you ain't doing it right!

The problem we have had in Sea Devils is the gulf between the top 4-5 (Cards, NM, Piskots, Gamblers and Celtics), and the rest..... Paradise Regained and Wesley Crushers both threatened, but lack consistency.

That gap is closing now though - Solihull, NG Warriors, Fappers, Silk, and Plymouth are well coached sides that are edging ever closer...

I think thats a fair statement, especially when you look at the conferences. In the NC the gap between the top teams and the rest looks huge. Paradise looked good last year but are struggling at the minute...

AC is a lot tighter - NGG have dominated for a loooooong time. But the gap seems to be getting tighter.

And Carinthian Cowboys are another team to look out for imo. They really should've won our game and they've made a lot of clever signings...

These are the CoC final 4's each season. The bold is the eventual winner.

Season 2

Thunder: Landru
Claymores: NI Ravens
Fire: Urshult: Gladiators
Admirals: Bengals Udine
_________________________________________

Season 3

Admirals: Bengals Udine
Full Floters
Fire: Urshalt Gladiators
Sea Devils: Naprzod Marsz
_____________________________________
Season 4

Dragons: Majalorca Pigs
SF
Fire: Mighty Magpies
Galaxy: SD Blitz
_____________________________________

Season 5

Admirals : High Fives
Mov Ravens
Dragons : SF
Fire: Mighty Magpies
_______________________________________
Season 6

Thunder: Landru Athletics
Sea Devils: Lucea Cardinals
Fire: -TOG- Bears
Dragons: Majalorca Pigs
____________________________________

So after looking at this there are a few conclusions I draw.

1. Many of the teams that make to the final 4 are repeaters.

Examples:

Thunder was represented in the final 4 a total of 2 times while winning it once. The same team Landru is responsible for all Thunder success in the final 4 of CoC.

Claymores have been represented 1 time by NI Ravens.

Fire has been represented a total of 5 times! Urshalt had it the first 2 times, then MM the next 2 and now -TOG-Bears this last season.

Admirals have a total of 4 times with Bengals Udine represented twice, Full Floters once, and Mov Ravens recently won it all.

Sea Devils have 2 representations by 2 different teams with each team winning it all.

Dragons has 4 representations with Sf and Majalorca each having 2. Majalorca won it one season.

Galaxy has one appearance by SD Blitz.

So out 13 (number of different teams) out of 20 (total number of slots) it isn't about variety.

2. It comes down to more about who the good teams are and not the good conferences...although CLaymore and Galaxy are certainly behind...

3. If you view the data you will see some cycle of teams going through so there is some spacing between success of leagues.

To have CoC represent the actual champ you need some sort of round robin...
