May I suggest if that happens, that we also ban certain f and s words which are considered much stronger swearing to speakers of British English? That includes derivatives of those words and abbreviations which are banded all over the internet, on forums everywhere....
Or maybe we just use some common sense? The GD word is not offensive to the vast majority of site users. |

The reason we are hearing this awful language come out of the mouths of men, women and even children is because it is so commonplace that they think it is normal. Blasphemy never goes unnoticed by God.
I think there is a better way to handle that, especially since young people also read the forum. A symbol indicating that there might be some offensive language would give us the opportunity to decide if we wanted to read such articles/post. I see no difference in reading the words and hearing the words. edit with new post. Last edited on 2013-02-05 15:28:09 by nobody |

After what happened last week with the TM, Pete really needs this like a hole in the head!
I would hope that common sense prevails here. |

To be honest: I respect everyone's religion, but I won't support any censorship. If a religious reason is there not to swear or whatever, I respect that too, but don't ask me for censorship.
What is so hard on ignoring such things? I would understand it if we would provide a religious page or something similar...but this is a football game, and sex, swearing and so on is part of it. Don't believe it? Watch the cheerleaders, check the interviews, or even the chitchat on the line of scrimmage. C'Mon |

To add: if you believe this is just wrong/stupid/...come up with a suggestion for kids-friendly forum, where cursing is banned from...we will then see what the majority tells about it

C'Mon Precisely, as long as we steer clear of racial slurs and strong insults aimed directly at people it is fine. Banter, mild cursing aimed at nobody in particular, that's just part of forum life! That dude who is trying to cram his own religious beliefs on everyone needs to take a note of his own username....as ultimately, thats what he is, as are we all on the grand scale of things.
I am truly amazed at the reaction.....then again....am i really? Maybe not. Now then...lets go back to that burger ad with the hot, tasty........jalapenos in it! |
