How is blocking calculated at the LOS is it a 1 v 1 situation or are the skills collated and it's as a unit? I think I have seen somewhere that TW and INT is combined between the OL and DL but not sure how the skills would match up.

I have read somewhere, quite recently that the lines do work together when the ball is snapped.

I would assume that at the beginning of the calculation these stats are used before the play has shown which direction it is going in. Pass or rush, and then left, right or up/over the middle.

an example could be that the Oline's TW and Intel vs Dline's TW and Intel with the resulting figure some sort of multiplier in the player vs player calculation...just a guess though.

it is a mix of single skills, skills per block unit, skills per defender-unit, and skills of the whole lines...

What's the difference between "skills per block unit" and "skills of the whole lines"?

So would I be right in thinking that if you knew your opponent had great DEs and not so great DTs you could create an advantage by putting your best OLs at OC and OG to rush down the middle?

Obviously this would leave you open to being sacked / hurried more often on passing plays but you could create an advantage though the middle
