i think gio and tyler are really going to help him if they perform in games like the nfl has been portraying them as. Im really hoping Gio just comes out the gate and give us a true running. Mainly cause I noticed that Andy and the whole team seemed to play extremely better when BenJarvus played really well.

With Hard Knocks debuting in a few days, may as well break down some info for anyone who is going to watch it.

- If you watched in 2009, don't expect the same Bengals team. Only 14 of the 90 guys to start training camp were here then. Even the power structure is different. In the 2010 contract negotiations, Mike Brown finally gave up most team control to Marvin Lewis.

- The team is strongest on the lines, offensive and defensive. The defensive secondary is also underrated. Biggest weakness traditionally is linebackers, and Rey Maualuga is still in the middle

Position Battles:

C: The starting center job is between Kyle Cook and Trevor Robinson. Cook was injured most of last season, and came back too soon. Still, so far in camp he looks to be the better player and has more experience.

SS: The strong safety position is a three-man race between Shawn Williams (3rd round pick), Taylor Mays, and George Iloka. Currently Iloka is the frontrunner, but Williams has done a surprising job picking up a complicated defense.

WR2: Mo Sanu and Marvin Jones were both rookies last season, but took turns being injured. Sanu was better during the year, but both have looked solid in camp. Whoever loses this goes to WR4, because Hawkins has the third spot locked.

CB: The top three CBs are currently Leon Hall, Terence Newman, and Adam Jones. However, expect Brandon Ghee and Dre Kirkpatrick to start to push them for time. I expect Dre to have mostly replaced Newman by seasons end.

Round 1-2 Draft Picks:

Tyler Eifert: Looks fantastic so far, and looks like the NFL won't be too fast or hard for him to play great year 1. He'll be backup to Gresham at first, but he'll take the starting job eventually.

Gio Bernard: Also looks great. Best scat back the Bengals have had... pretty much ever. BJGE is still unquestionably the starter, but expect Bernard to get lots of 3rd down work.

Margus Hunt: Raw, just as expected. A physical specimen, just as expected. The nice thing is, if he isn't ready, the Bengals don't have to play him this year. They are already really deep at D-Line, and there are 4 DEs that are ahead of him currently.

If you have any questions, speak up! The Bengals need more fans WHODEY!
