Plus post-career, in retirement, Footwork is invaluable when the player becomes a contestant on Dancing with the Stars !

i would have to agree. for one i think footwork for QB has been overlooked here aswell. in real life footwork is key for QB to move around the pocket and is pretty important as part of there passing mechanics.

It seems that everyone is projecting their own definition on what footwork is or should be...when really what matters (from a game perspective) is how its defined in the rules and implemented in the game engine.

Is footwork the skill that allows QB's to scramble and buy time in the pocket? Or is it Agility? Or Speed? Or a combination of skills?

The point is that footwork SHOULD affect every position - and all players should have footwork considered and developed as part of their ongoing progress.

I know what youre saying Steve - but footwork is such an essential skill to have in every position it would be disappointing (as an understatment) if it was ignored totally in several positions - because it is such a huge factor in RL football.

Being a former CB myself, I was initially disappointed that FOO was not a factor for that position, because back-paddling and reacting to WRs cuts requires quick feet obviously.

However, the way FOO is interpreted here at RZA has more to do with engaging into a block and having the feet work against resistance, so to speak, or at least that's what I believe.

Yes, this is basically what I was saying. Yes, everybody in football is using their feet in some way (and you might term it as footwork). But in reality, what a linemen is doing in terms of planting his feet so he can have a stable base to block or defend or pass rush is different than a quick footed RB (like Tony Dorsett) or CB (like Deon Sanders) who stops & starts his feet (& legs) abruptly for cuts and spins etc.

Then it is easy...we just remove FOO from the skill list...since all use it, is it not worth to carry it anymore...it is like the skill "breathing"...
