Larger sample sizes always give more accurate results. On the one hand you say we should consider Rice over the last 5 years, yet on the other Morris only from 2013.

Your contradictions are becoming ever more desperate im afraid. All that and i still have said 'currently'. If Morris has a Rice like 2014 will i be saying the same thing as now? No, not at all. But therein lies the difference between us.

This has lasted 4 pages now. I think we should just agree to disagree but i will have this bet with you for next season (regular).

Morris gains more yards (from scrimmage/all purpose) than Ray Rice.

You taking it?

now we're getting somewhere! (i'm not taking the bet myself, i just love bets as a way to end an argument)

btw- redskins being 30m under the cap is huge. i had forgotten they were under a 36m cap penalty for the last 2 seasons. no wonder they haven't been able to compete! that penalty is over now so they can be aggressive in the FA market. it would be a special time to be a skins fan but, well, they still got that crazy-ass owner

I was pointing out your contradiction dude

You want to consider Morris' entire career but you're not willing to do that for Rice, that's where the contradiction lies. Either we only consider 2013 for everyone and Morris is 12th and we consider each back's entire career and Rice is ahead of Morris. Not sure how you arbitrarily decided that 2012 is relevant but not 2011 or any year before that.

I'm not sure about Rice gaining more yards from scrimmage than Morris next year but I'll bet that Morris won't be one of the top 5 RBs in yards from scrimmage next year if you want. I'm pretty confident I'd win this one

You cant compare 2011 cause Morris didnt play then! You can only compare relative stats - what a dumb suggestion!!

Its all about the word 'current'. Once you get it into your head that im talking about the here and now then a semblance of realisation might fall in. Otherwise lets bring in Emmitt Smith or Barry Sanders or Eric Dickerson or Wa l t e r Payton!

Funny but you say you consider Rice to be better than Morris (still) yet you wont take the direct bet. Seems like youre a doggie that barks alot - but never bites.

Come back when youre willing to back up your words with your actions.

Pot. Black. Kettle.

Back up your original statement of Morris being a top 5 back by taking my bet then
This is the claim you've made from the get go and that we've been arguing about for 6 pages!

The only "claim" I made about Rice is this:
"Let's put ourselves in a hypothetical scenario, each and every RB in the NFL is placed in a draft poll and GMs are asked to draft them for one game only. I don't think Morris would be picked in the top 5, you apparently think he would and that's perfectly fine but I'm just explaining to you why I think you're wrong. I think guys like Ray Rice, Forte and Lynch would be picked ahead of him but after the obvious top 4 (McCoy, Peterson, Charles and Foster) and then a few guys would be arguable like Murray, Sproles, Bush, Gore & Moreno."

Current = this season, period. Not 2012 + 2013.
So Morris is currently the 12th best RB in the league

Does this mean you're admitting that Morris isn't a top 5 back since you're not willing to bet that he'll be in the top 5 (yards from scrimmage) next season?

Using one of the legendary Dumb and Dumber scenes, this is kind of like the two of you are sounding.

I'd pick Morris in the 2nd round ahead of Sproles, Bush, Gore and Moreno. 50/50 with Murray - it would depend on who I'd taken in the 1st round - with an early pick it should be possible to have a 2 RBs in the 1st 2 rounds including Morris or Murray.

And I hate the Redskins.

Backs I'd take earlier - Charles, McCoy, Peterson, Lynch, Bell, Lacy, Forte, maybe Doug Martin, and depending on how the rosters look, possibly Giovanni Bernard - that kid should go big next season! I'd avoid Foster as he can't stay on the field.
