I've looked and there is no such team in Dragons 1.1. Perhaps you were thinking of FAJNY TIM?

Regarding your first point, I'd say the TM change increased the gap as most 1.1 teams are established and had more cash reserves compared to 2.x that they could then blow on the throng of new draftee free agents.

edit - In other news I just youth pulled a 16yo track star with 46 tw. He's turning 17 in a week, right?

I disagree about the TM change widening the gap. Players are now far cheaper than they had been. Teams still have the reserves but aren't spending them as wages will start catching up. In fact I'd argue that the TM change will shrink the gap.

it'll make it tougher for new managers i think, but it should make it easier for div 2 teams to catch up to div 1 teams. like he said, good players are way cheaper. you don't see guys going for 200m anymore in the TM.`

It may do this in the long run. In the short, it has been a boost to the rich old teams who got to round out their lineup with draft quality players in every position.

It's true in my case, I managed to widen gap between my team rating and yeyeye's also droping average age of my depth chart and I even didn't had that much money to play with. And he didn't start that much later.
Also this might be one of the reasons why div2 teams looked so badly in relagation games. But this is just guessing...

I did some Maths for the Relegation games last season and this season. Obviously I ignored the Bot game this season .... so the comparison is 3 vs 4 , but it's still quite interesting ........(div 2 teams listed first)

Season 6

Birka Loggers 48.7% vs London Redcoats 47.7%
Dulverton Dragons 42.0% vs Nebraska Cornhuskers 48.6%
Les Mousquetaires 44.7% vs Oldham Typhoons 51.5%
London Holdouts 43.3% vs Madrid Typhoons 55.2%

Div 2 average 44.6% ....... Div 1 average 50.7%
Difference = 6.1%

Season 7

Bieberhole 69ers 46.6% vs Birka Loggers 51.8%
Dundalk 47.5% vs State Smashas 51.9%
Southern Stars 42.5% vs Dome Babbies 52.9%

Div 2 average 45.5% ........Div 1 average 52.2%
Difference = 6.7%

Interpret these figures however you want to (I'm sure you would anyway ) .... but remember the 'problems' with averages.

I think rating reflects only the quality of your own team, regardless of the opponent. Therefore, it's OK to ignore STO, but you can't ignore Underachieving Steamrollers, which have the highest rating (50.1) of all teams that played in the relegation games.

If you don't ignore them, Div2 avg is 46,7 and difference is 5,5.

I don't quite see the logic in comparing an average of 3 teams with an average of 4 teams.

However, if we follow your argument to it's logical conclusion ..... Shoutin The Odds would probably not be in the Relegation Playoffs (if he hadn't gone Bot), the team that would possibly have been in the games was Red Black Warriors.

Red Black has an overall rating of 55.1%.
This means the Div 1 average is therefore 52.9% ....... giving a Difference of 6.2%.

math is boring....
I was wondering how it looks when you compare whole leagues. Is div1 somewhere near 53.5% ? Have no idea where div2 might be...maybe 44% ?
Someone has it calculated maybe ? or is on 'to do' list ? ;p
