Hi

I built a new section of my stadium and I thought it would finish by the 2nd April but its only finishing on the 3rd. If I had known it would finish the 3rd there is no way I would have started construction because I have a conference championship game on the 2nd. When I did the construction there was no message about when the construction would have been finished.

Please can you reverse the construction because I will lose much needed revenue.

Thanks
hi, i am really sorry, but i cant do that. it would be unfair to do that.

regards

pete

Hi Pete

Sorry but I dont know why it would be unfair to the other players. I can guarantee you that if you asked the other players they would not have a problem with this. There was no warning of when the stadium would be finished and as soon as I identified the error I contacted you so you could see it was an error. I was not trying to cheat or gain an unfair advantage. The manual also didnt have any information of the stadium construction period. So in most instance I would probably agree with you but in this instance it was not my mistake. How is a new player suppose to know the dates. I actually think by not undoing this error is unfair to me.

Thanks,

The Stadium section of the Manual could be more explicit .... i.e. it doesn't seem to actually say what the 'construction time period' is.

However, the Manual says this :-

"Hint: The constructed seats are available on the completion/finish date."

To me, that says 'the seats are not available instantly, there is a period of days where construction will take place".

A search of the Rookie Forum would have shown that the "How long to build some seats" question has been asked many times....... or the Manager in question could've asked the question himself in the Forums.

So there was no bug, just manager's wrong move?
Then sorry, but everyone should be responsible for his/her moves. If something isn't in manual, there is forum, there are mentors, videolessons made by our former French friend...
Kind of possibility to help this manager can be to move the game to other stadium(I know normally play-offs are determined by regular season ranking, but it's propably better than cancel some move by manager).

I haven't built any Seats for many many seasons, so I can't remember this, but ... just out of interest, could somebody tell me the exact wording of the message that you get when you hit the "start construction" button. ?

I'm presuming that there is a message, because there is usually some 'confirmation' message when you do anything in this game which involves buying/selling/spending money etc .

I'm not sure myself, but only remember completion date on stadium page after I hit the build button.

I just wonder why he is building now when he is in the play offs, personally I built when I had two away games in a row, as I remember reading somewhere to do that, or at end of season when not in play offs, which has happened more often than not.

A MessageBox with OK and Cancel comes up with this text:

"Are you sure you want to extend this stand? The stand will not be available during the construction."

If you press ok, construction will start and it tells you the date. Its a bit weird that you don't know the date before you confirm.

The user is not completely right, but IMO there would be an alert with the exact completion time (i.e. "the construction will be complete at 04.01. 23:00h") before he can press "ok".

I agree.

Three things :-

(1) caveat emptor ... let the buyer beware ....or in other words, the onus is on The Manager to understand the consequences of hitting the "OK" button.

(2) Amend the message so that the completion date is shown before the OK button

(3) Add the construction period to the Stadium section of the Manual.
Admin, ... if you want, I could write a sentence or two to add into the Manual ... if you want me to, I'll do it.
