so why would this situation be any different? i agree there need to be more warnings in place for stuff like this, but as a responsible owner, i tried my best to read through the majority of the manual before starting. i'm a realist though, and i know not everyone will.

however, if you choose to not read the section about whatever your about to do before you spend the $, that's your choice! i don't know what to tell this guy, but the language it's written in is plain and easy to understand and available to all. it sucks, but i also spent way more $ on a coach i had to fire after one season so i don't really feel sorry for him.

if you messed up that badly then why not just abandon the team and start over?

Doubt if starting over would be required in this case, in the letter it says "I built a new section of my stadium" and also mentions that he's in the Conf Champs ........ therefore, reading between the lines :-

(1) "a new section" implies 1 or 2 Stands being built , doesn't really sound like the whole Stadium is under construction (and therefore closed). Open to interpretation though as the wording is a bit ambiguous.

(2) The Ticket Price Factors are x2 for Conf Champs, and if he wins the Conf Champs, x3 for League Bowl ........ so looks like he's still got some decent amounts of Cash headed his way in the near future.

In all fairness, there is a massive amount of information to digest, you really can't remember it all. I'm diligent about reading all of the manuals, help files, RZA for dummies, etc. and even I couldn't remember reading how long it took for construction to complete. I've been at this for just under a month, and it's only now that I'm starting to feel comfortable with what to do, what I know, etc. Heck, I accidentally built the wrong facilities (to say nothing of the fact I probably haven't built any this early) and wound up having to demolish them. I don't know, maybe if I was a veteran or a mod I would have a different stance, but I don't see anything wrong with giving some newbies a mulligan here and there.

that's my entire point, i know you can't remember everything and i don't expect people to read through the whole manual when they start and/or remember it all when they do.

but when you're about to build up your stadium, and you've actually done it before too, and you don't refer to the manual to make sure it'll be done in time before a big game, then it's your down fault! i mean, i have even less sympathy if he is not brand new to the game and has been building up his stadium for a while because then he should be adapt to knowing how many days it takes to build up. so while if this was his first week in the game i'd be understanding but still vote no to this poll, i'm never going to feel differently about someone who A) had already built their stadium up in the past so they should know how long it takes and B) failed to reference the manual as a precautionary measure to make sure how long it takes before building up before a playoff game!

This may very well be my opponent in the CC (who should not have the home field to begin with, but thats covered in another forum..). Even though this (or a similar case) is threatening my income too I see only bad precedence in reversing the user action. We need Pete's precious time spend building the game vs undoing user mistakes. A completion date before the construction is finalized would be a nice improvement to the user experience though.

if we ok this at what point do we start saying no? when someone who has been playing for 4 seasons does the same thing (ok, not their stadium but you get the idea) are we going to grant them the same leniency?

I have missed out on alot of attendance cash because i have added construction during the season, that is just the way it is you have to expand even if you lose out on some cash. And if you let one have a redo then what will the next mistake be. Learning the game is rough in some areas but i will bet this will never happen again to the player that decided to expand during the playoffs but at least you know now.

A few questions mainly for Pete:-

1, Have you overturned a decision like this before? Excluding the 20 year old TM issue at season rollover a few season back

2, What does the player stand to lose? Is it one stand or all four? and what was the stand(s) capacity before building?

Question for the person with the issue to ask himself:-

Why didn't you post in the rookie forum if you wanted to make sure? Looking at the new posts on the first page with the exception of Steves technical post and one other the rest are answered in less than 20 minutes!!

Really? where does it all end?
A slight loss of income!! I guarantee I've lost a helluva lot more by my impatient/newbie mistakes: Hiring coaches, building facilities, "drunkenly" adding a extra zero on contract negotiations.
What`s next? "I demand a rematch because I didn't set my playbook".
Yes, certain aspects might need rephrasing.
So if an issue like this has been brought to the table it will be addressed.
For the improvement and progress of the game lets just call it taking one for the team. The funny thing is though I would think a high percentage have taken at least one for the team 'Manned up and got on with it'.

Good luck for the future.

I like the way you see things razor34 ...I placed a player on the TL, then realized I shouldn't have done that because I later learned where I made my mistake. Thankfully, nobody wanted him because of his age, but I did have to re-negotiate his contract. Most agreed tho, and something I've learned a long time ago even tho I'm no country music fan: "The Gambler" By Kenny Rodgers...Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em...Player made a choice and it was a bad one; life sucks; hopefully he will recover.
