So draft WRs tend to have pretty good strength as a general rule - - this maybe because draft players are just better overall or because WRs need strength. In looking at my statistics, my stronger WRs don't seem to break anymore tackles than the weaker ones (what I might expect). Seems like they might be dropping fewer passes though (not what I expected). Was sort of wondering what the consensus was about WR strength... Steve SD Blitz |

At least the Training Optimizer never suggests STR for WRs, but does so for CBs (after Speed is capped) and TEs (even before that) for example. Maybe that changes when a WR has SPE capped and AGI/CATCH/POS above STR, but usually the Optimizer tends to cap STR/SPE - if needed at that position - before suggesting skill-training. So my guess is STR might help when it comes to breaking tackles, but SPE/AGI/CATCH/POS are essential.

Stats for my WRs by DC position.
WR1 - 35.3 STR - 78 drops - 75 broken tackles WR2 - 39.8 STR - 82 drops - 75 broken tackles WR3 - 42.3 STR - 70 drops - 78 broken tackles WR4 - 35.0 STR - 90 drops - 74 broken tackles While my strongest WR does have the least drops, I'm not convinced, especially since it's not clear if the drops stat includes passes broken off by the CB. So it might be that my 3rd WR gets paired up with the 3rd/4th CB of the opponent, hence the less drops (less passes boroken). The only thing I'm sure of is, WR ACs train STR. And Pete once said there are no diminishing returns when it comes to skills, so ther more STR the merrier? |

Additionally, the problem with these numbers is that each of these events are probably effected by other skills (catching, maybe tactical skills for drops & speed/agility or carrying for broken tackles).
For next season, please train all your WRs' other skills to exactly the same value and re-report results back to us at the end of next season! Steve SD Biltz |

Very true! not to forget the skill levels of the opposition My wr1 and 2 are very similar, so they are comparable. It seems reasonable, that the difference is due to wr1 always meeting the best defender, but I will be looking into it next season as well. Maybe just swop them, to see if the stats invert. |
