Hey Pete! I want to ask a question about player Experience. Manual wrote:
Experience Each 10% of experience is indicated by half a star. The highest level of experience achievable is 5* which equates to 100%. I don't know how to interpret this sentence. Here are the two meanings I can think of: 1. This means a half star EXP player will utilize only 10% of his current playing skills. So a QB with 0,5* EXP and 50 passing will "only" have 5 in passing. This means if everything else is equal, then from two players, one with 0,5* EXP and 50 in skills and another with 1* EXP and 40 in skills, the 1* EXP will alwayys be stronger (again, assuming everything else is equal between these players). 2. The percentages given by EXP only show what type of "penalty range" the players fall into, which isn't as "harsh" as the above mentioned scenario. Like for example, the hardest penalty can run from 10% to 25% (where we can only see the 10% as 0,5*, 20% as 1* then 30% as 1,5* on the players page). So a palyer's playing skills will get hit the hardest in this range, until he reaches the next range, where the penalty is "weaker", until he has 5* EXP so 100%, where there's no penalty. How close am I to the truth? lol I know EXP is important (if they are handled similarly to the coaches EXP) and I'm not asking to reveal the secrets of the engine, that would take away all the fun. I just want some clarity when trying to understand how to interpret this part of the Manual. Thanks in advance for whatever riddle you throw at me Master Yoda! Hi do me a fav and go for it in the forum, I will answer it there, so the public audience has something to read. OK for you? Works for me. Depending on the answer I wanted to post it anway. So there you have it Pete. Give us something to read! |

To make it short: it is more like 2.
Experience works as a factor. There is a weight for this factor, so it could lower the skill based on the experience level between xx% (half star exp) and 0% (5* exp) |

Going with the example above, I'm sure at some point an all 40 playing skill player will be stronger than an all 50 playing skiller. But in the above case where the 40 has 1* EXP and the 50 has 0,5* EXP is this possible?
So it's either: - yes, it's possible - sometimes, depending on the random factors - or no, never, the difference in playing skills are too high to be covered be the 0,5* difference in experience in this case And another question: are these EXP penalty factors linear? I assume they are, since the player's EXP has a linear increase too. |

Linear, and the detailed math is a hidden information, therefore I can't answer yes or no on your 40 vs 50 skill question, sorry But yes, with the numbers it might be that Exp is making a worse skill player acts better than a better skilled player. And yes, some very small randomness is in here as well...since the whole game skill calculation has RNG as part of it.

Guys, something is wrong with experience.
Look at my QB, Sam Bellich: promoted 4 seasons ago from YA with 1.5 stars experience, now, after 139 matches, 9596 plays and 4217 passes his experience is only 2.5!! I think this rule should be reconsidered... |

he is 23, he could do easily 7 or 8 years more...how much should experience be AFTER his career?

Ok, another example:
Marelius Kasyaniuk, my top RB: drafted at 19, now is 25 years old; over 9000 plays, 1.5 exp stars earned (from 2.0 to 3.5). In real life a player with 5-6 full seasons played sould be full of experience. |

that is a question of definition, i am afraid. if you would have asked brett favre 5 years before his career end if he is fully experienced, and we would tell the truth, the answer would be no probably...

More simple: experience can not be a linear parameter, a real player is almost full of experience after 4-5 seasons (maybe 4.0-4.5 stars).

IMO only a few extraordinary good players should hit 100% EXP ever |
