Simply because you cannot fire players at will.

So if I had 70 on the roster and I see a gem on the TM................

I think that if you feel your 70 man roster can get a lot better via the TM then avoiding HR is probably wise until one is very happy with one's 70 man roster.

But it isnt. You can fire just as easy as before. The tax you have to pay is nothing since lets admit it that the players you'd actually fire are usually not having a very high salary. In any case you save up much more then that from going HR.

So to be 100% clear on this -

My starting QB is presently on $ 27,247. Are you saying that if I was in HR mode that I could sign him to a contract < $ 27,247 for this 1 season???

Yes!

For sure!

He will be at something like 24-25k - based on your negotiation-skills...

There should be a "referral link" for encouraging Managers to switch to HR .... and the referral prize should be doubled if it's Hosh that switches

OK hosh look at this scenario.

You have a TE with 30 blocking and all other skills are way down and they would take you 3 full seasons to catch all other skills up.

Without HR you would be paying roughly $15,500 each financial week. Over the course of three full seasons (24 financial weeks a season) you would pay him roughly $1,116,000 over the course of the three seasons.

With HR you negotiate two contracts for this and next season therefore you get him at a discount you would then pay the same player $1,004,400 over the same period which would save you $111,600. Multiply this over 70 players and it makes a difference. Then take into account those players whose skills are over 30 and that figure just keeps rising.

I would have thought closer to 2.4k - 2.5k if Hosh was negotiating he would just keep going until the guy agrees

I guess the player would act a bit different, if he sees it is hosh waiting for him in the negotiation room

It depends upon how serious the player is though
