I'll live with it now- - I like the game overall. But the HR feature needs work- - and you should be allowed to back out of it if you hate it somehow. Incidentally, negotiated 0 franchise contracts and all but 3 draft players were at 1 year contracts. Even negotiating at the 90% line on every one of those contracts my net cost went UP per the forecast. Before HR: $14,383,510 for the remainder of the year After HR: $15,857,879. Great deal It pays off in the long term.... Typically, your draft picks will have salary affecting skills in the mid/low 20s and come with a salary of about 6-8k per week, a 3 season HR contract will cost you around 10k. In the 2nd/3rd season, those skills will be in their 30s if you train them properly... His salary will STILL be about 10k, instead of 30-40k Yes, it will jump again when you renegotiate, but you will have saved a fortune in the meantime! Last edited on 2013-04-16 22:34:10 by JonnyP |

There really isn't a downside to the HR department over the course of your franchise.

If you have guys, you are not training main skill at the moment, you really should wait to negotiate their contract until you start to train their man skill (= highest trained skill except speed+strength) again.
It is the beginning of the season, your guys are now ‘more expensive’…the players will be satisfied with less (~ 90 % of the estimation build on skills) money in the second half of the season. And yes…HR Department is a necessity for well managed teams…you save $$$$, especially in the long term with rosters having multiple players with skills > 35. The good thin with the HR-Department is, that you can make 3 season trainings plans for your players with no wage increase.
You give your player a this and 2 other season contract and you can train one season his primary skill, one season his secondary skill and one season his tertiary skill. The wage will increase at the end of the 3rd season and not after every season. |

All of these are good points
However I still strongly dispute that the HR is a no-brainer 1. It is a bad short term financial decision as wages rise approximately 20% 2. It adds significant cost to turnover which can heavily effect new teams in the process of building The HR is great for mature teams, but it is in danger of being a rookie trap, slowing stadium building and cash strapping younger teams In hind sight I should have waited until I was done with major turnover |

Even when you are just training physicals your saving ~10% on the one year contracts.
I don't understand how it is not a no brainer.... Short term and long term it saves you money. I think you must have made some mistakes tbh |

Nope no mistakes. The 10% savings is actually on a higher amount than non-HR contracts. So your 10% savings is actually a 20% increase.
In the long run you save, but short term you pay |

Only benefits for a small amount of investment... |
