Pete, do all leagues have the same quality of players in the draft?

It might make sense to make 2.x / 3.x draft a bit worse than 1.1 drafts, to discourage tanking.

Managers got players from their former league draft, so tanking only affect to your draft position. Lowering the average values of draft players in 2.x and 3.x will not refrain players from tanking. actually, it only will became in a hindrance to promoting Managers.

Concur! Lower league players need to be equal or better to promote competition. Tanking is rarely a problem in games like this...

Looking at the drafts I have been involved in there isn't much of a difference between the average season 4 draftee and the average season 9 draftee

Ave STR between 35.9 (S5) and 37.2 (S7)
Ave SPD between 37.5 (S7) and 39.0 (S4)
Ave INT between 38.4 (S9) and 42.7 (S7)
Ave TW between 35.3 (S7) and 36.7 (S9)

This is interesting data but reads confusing. Is the (Sx) the season number? Why aren't they all S(4) vs. S(9) for apples-to-apples comparison?

Because thats the highest and the lowest and when they occur

but those are misleading.Because there not broke down by position.

DL and LB tend to be easy to find with good physicals skills while OL tend to be hard to find one that has more than 40 str in the draft. And the same goes for wr with speed. You have better luck drafting a TE for speed than a WR

Draft Average (Season 2) :- OL Strength - 39.35, WR Speed - 41.19
Draft Average (Season 8) :- OL Strength - 40.50, WR Speed - 39.00

Breakdown by season and position

Draftee Skills

There are also a couple of seasons of the Claymore 1.1 draft included in there along with one or two others.

The season number is the season in which the players are drafted as that takes place after the season has rolled over into the next season

This is perfect bwadders, thanks. Haven't bothered to calculate the p-value but from looking at the rough data it appears that your season variation is statistically insignificant. I think you may just be experiencing a "bad luck" draft within your league this season...

Galaxy 1.1 draft looks pretty weak too, but since I'm near the back, I don't really depend on the draft for starters. I will probably sell most of my draftees going forward.

I think there have been a lot of really good free agents that has lessen the dependence on the draft and perhaps warped peoples expectations.

It seems that you put the same numbers for season 4 and 5. Without that, thanks, it is very interesting!

How has it done that? It's a pivot table so I just copied the data required from the draft downloads into another sheet, added the season number and created the pivot table. Thanks I'll check it out.
