My defense seems to do OK up until the second half. They will get the job done in the first half then get burned on long pass plays in the second half. Is that a sign that I need to rest them sooner or that I need better backup players? My guess that it's some of both. My defense was doing a decent job against a better opponent today then my QBs start throwing picks and my defense let the other team throw bombs for 77 and 40 yard against the same defense that earlier did ok. link to match

I have been trying to get better with my defense and see where my defense has been exploited in other games and have tried to fix it. I think today I called a decent defense but I was bummed they let the other team get away with the two long passes.

You can top off your Conditioning to help avoid 2nd half worries. I would also check your formations. Both "bombs" you had 3-4-4 matched up against the SG 4. You did better earlier in the game with 3-3-5.

I see where the 3-3-5 did good. I see where on a 3-4-4 the LBs wouldn't be able to cover a WR very well. Looking at where the passes were thrown, I see no long passes from my opponent so those were poorly covered receivers on my end and not bombs. It was more likely a good QB taking advantage of the situation.
