As it is today: "Blocking is useful for doing X, Y and Z
101
QB needs skill X, Y and Z. Supporting skills are U, V and W
39
To pass the ball, the player needs to have high X, Y and Z, supported by U, V and W

Don't provide any description, it should be part of the gameplay to check this out

simple rules just add what you feel needs added to the manual to make thinks that could end a lot of debates.

For me that a skill matrix by position all skills use by player in any play.
This way it would clear up all question about what skills come in to play.

That is out of focus. It is simply part of the gameplay, the "gamers experience" to check what skills he could use to screw his opp. We can discuss about similar descriptions as they are there today for tackling as example, but no matrix

Agree on this subject with you. More clear verbal descriptions of skills needed for certain actions (especially blocking) would be great though

when we talk about "attracting more managers..." or "why do new managers leave the game early?", the manual is very important for new managers.
there are a lot of information hidden in the forum, which do not show up in the manual. i mean those "pete said..." things.

pete in what I'm saying is simple list saying the skills need in any give play for a position. You do not need to list the weights of these skills. As that part is mangers up to the manger on which to put more time into.

And not have this stuff in the manual only drive new mangers and old ones way.
New because they get tried of luke warm not sure answers

And old because they get tired of trying to point the view just to have other say there wrong. even if there right or wrong.

But who got some else that is not in the manual that should be anyone?

Is it possible to send new managers a message with the link to the 'RZA for Dummies' thread?

I think that could help a lot for newer managers. I know I didn't see it in my first season. And a lot of people who join probably won't check the forums...

edit: fwiw I think I signed up twice and let my team go bot before deciding to stick around on the third try. And had I seen that thread to help me out I might have stayed on earlier. For someone like me who doesn't have a wealth of knowledge about American Football (The odd superbowl and playing madden a few years ago) it is quite a daunting prospect having to start from scratch with your playbook etc. The playbook I didn't touch until my 3rd season I think....
