I am considering swapping a TE and a WR and would like some input of whether its a good idea a not. Both are draft players and good players IMO.
TE age 21 has these skills Strength 39.5 Speed 44.4 Agility 26.4 Positioning 25.7 Vision 13.4 Blocking 26.8 Catching 29.5 Teamwork 34.4 Intelligence 37.6 Talent 4.0 Experience 2.5 WR age 23 has these skills Strength 48.4 Speed 44.3 Agility 27.2 Positioning 30.4 Vision 18.2 Blocking 11.7 Catching 29.0 Teamwork 47.4 Intelligence 45.4 Talent 5.0 Experience 3.5 I'm considering swapping them because the WR has significantly higher strength, and I value strength more for a TE. They have the same speed so doesnt impact anything. Obviously I will need to train blocking for the WR and it will be wasted for the TE. THe WR has higher TW. I have a WR coach but no TE coach, so their training will even out more if I do the swop. What are your thoughts? Am I forgetting something? Is it a good idea or just a waste of blocking and time, to even think about it? |

Side note: Tight End: Positioning/ Strength/ Catching/ Blocking Wide Receiver: Positioning/ Speed/ Agility / Catching |

I disagree on your side note.
TE: Strength, Speed, Agility, Positioning, Catching, Blocking and Vision WR: Strength, Speed, Agility, Positioning, Catching and Vision They are just weighted differently |

Imo i wouldnt waste the 26 blocking for the TE, thats a great stat!
The strength helps the WR anyway. If you can manage it, play him in the slot in SG4. But that would mean he doesnt play much. on the flip side, that TE can catch well, so use that too, in TE plays. With speed 44, strength wouldnt matter so much, cause he'll be past the LBers before they can tackle him. Think of how good these two (as are) would make your Big I and I Formation! 66% of your skill players on the line are very good. if it were me, i'd keep them as is. I leave them the way they are. The current wr has much better str/int which you can't train up (assuming the TE is capped) and the wr's see way more of the ball so you want your better guy involved a lot more (wr).

I would even change your TE's position to WR (because of "no TE coach").

Some interesting points.
My WR has about twice as many catches as my TE, so true they touch the ball way more. They also participate in twice as many plays. This could is probably biased as I very often use SG4WR and Spread against bots and weaker opponents. I am more interesting in optimizing against the strong opponents. alexshans84 wrote:

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. If it changes anything my second WR is very similar to the WR we are talking about? I have more of a drop off to the third one though. |

This, I would play him as WR #3 and occasional TE with OOPP |

I never thought of that. Never played anybody OOP, and I always figured I should have at least one good TE.
