Six months after quitting this game I decided to try it again, because the game itself has huge potential. I see nothing has changed so I'm out again. I hope I can open some eyes by posting my reasons:
The community in this game is extremely selfcentered. When you go into chat you get ignored because everyone is telling the room what's happening in their game. When you post a suggestion it gets anonymous low ratings from people who happen to not like you. Any discussion about a suggestion comes down to 'This wouldn't help my team, this would.'. All this wouldn't be a problem if Pete didn't try to keep everyone happy. No changes are made at all because there's always people who've set up their team for the current system and change wouldn't help their team. Polls are set up to fail, with several answers and everyone having to choose the same answer to be counted as a 'yes'. Anything else gets interpreted as 'please keep it the way it is'. If people actually thought about what makes the game better iso what makes their team better this game could become really huge amongst football fans worldwide. Or even if Pete just showed some stones and chose a direction to take this game. I hope nobody's too offended by this. It's just the way this ex-player saw things. |

Nothing against you, but I am often in the chatroom. havent seen you there all the time i stand there. For sure if it is gameday the users there talk about their matches whats wrong with that?
If there join a new user in the chatroom and ask something he mostly becomes help as long as the users there are not afk. But many join and left in the same second. If u dont write and say hello why or how should sb talk with u? For suggestions. I cant see any suggestion made by u. So which suggestions u talking about? Other point is. Is it pssible to implement a suggestion which is the complete opposite of how RZA is working or developed? Sometimes I think too this or that could be different but what does it mean if we change that? a complete change of the philosophy pete has in mind maybe? The question is too what are these suggestions u mean? Engine suggestions or other things? Do u want that the engine changes every season completely? I know that some users definitely dislike such a behavior especially if they have a long term strategy. And of course dont forget it is a spare time project. that means it needs time to develop new things not everything is possible after a few days/weeks. |

Under his new name, I think it's the dog lover that used to play the game come to think of it. Nogard made a very good point about suggestions being brought into effect. Pete has always maintained the small steps philosophy so he will change something and if it works it is kept. Even if Pete had the time to undertake a huge overhaul of the game and how it works he still wouldn't implement everything in one go because if one thing didn't work how it was supposed to he would have to undo everything. If the community is so bad please show us how we should behave. I have lost count of the number of new players who have come into the chat cave posted a question for help got the answer they needed and left. Players have even entered the cave after signing coaches way too early and the more experienced ones there have bent over backwards to help the guy out of the pickle that they are in. SkinnedPig you are entitled to your opinion but so am I so please do not be offended when I tell you that you are talking complete and utter bollocks mate. |

Its unfortunate you have had such a negative experience. I've asked a number of questions in the chat rooms and have always had helpful replies, but there is a lot of socializing going on in there too, which I think also adds to the game enjoyment.
I've only been with the game 6 months, but I've seen a number of good changes during that time and Pete's to-do list is substantial. Sometimes people do get a bit harsher than necessary in suggestion replies and you will always get those that self-maximize in their response. This bothered me personally at first too. But overall this is a good community and an enjoyable game. 
When I got some thicker skin I even got back to participating in the Suggestion forum, but if it really gets to you consider hiding that forum  |
