The Lisbon Mighty Lions have decided to unveal their new jerseys for this upcoming season.

In a controversial call, the Lions have been giving much more attention to how they will look in terms of jersey style, instead of how they will look in terms of on the field performance.
In a time where 90% of the owners are studying and adjusting the draft board, Lions owner Canonico decided to intruduce to the media the Lions S9 jersey. In a bold move, Canonico showed up dressed in the Lions new jersey to the press conference he schedulled with the media. Jaws dropped, but in the end alot of laughs were had. "I think the publicity stunt payed off...at this time I am preety sure we are the only team unvealing our new jersey, all other owners are too concerned about scrub players, the Lions have all the players they need" said Canonico when questioned about the timing of this unvealing. Lions expect the S9 jerseys to be a big success. As for the on the field season expectations, Canonico refused to comment.

Meh, took me 15 minutes to come up with that. I didn't do them from scratch, online website did most of the work.

Yesterday had a bit of time on my hands, so decided to check each team ratings, based on their Passing, Rushing, Passing Defense, Rushing Defense and Special teams rating combined. The special teams rating accounts for rougly 0.5% of the estimated overall reatings presented. When compared to the overall ratings RZA presents, they are close, but rarely the same. This can't be accurate because it's impossible to know if some teams have their best player out or on the depth chart. But it's a first view on how teams stack ratings wise against each other.

Note - This was taken yesterday, I didn't posted yesterday because I was waiting on a reply from Pete reguarding HTML tables. Unfortunately the forum cannot yet handle Tables in HTML. So I had to do it another way.

The rankings bellow are based on overall, in red shows the leaders in each category.

Top 8 teams in the ranking are all from diferent divisions, so I'd say they are the front runners to win the division (based on ratings) and advance to the playoffs. Gladiators defense only has paralel in the current champs (Ducks) defense. While in terms of offense there is more teams in the more or less same level.

Because they are the current champs, they have to be considered the team to beat, and hence the favourites to repeat, but Gladiators, Underachievers, Magpies, GLADIATORI, Lambruschi, Acorns and Rams all are on the top tier.

In terms of rooklie teams, clearly the Comanches are the more prepared team to compete right of the bat. Then comes the Alcatraz Swim Team who are boarderline ready to compete, and then two teams who may struggle to win games, Patriots and Miners. Hopefully I am wrong, and they manage to win some games and stay competitive.

Good luck all.

So sad to see Mighty Lions so low! SadFace.Gif

But we will look good while losing them!

This will be a transition season for the Lions, changing my coaching staff during the season is a bad move but one that needs to be made, so don't expect the same performance as last season from the Mighty Lions. Specialy in the first games of the season where for the most part the team will be in remodling transition firing coaches while hiring others.

As expected (by me) Lions lost against the Rams. Wasn't really close either, despite the good 4th quarter by the Lions who managed to save some some pride.

According to the list I put up, there was one minor upset today with Gattopardo beating the Jackets in Italy, but it was plausible that it could of happen based on how close those two are. Still suprised me. That was it I think it terms of upsets, we did had some great games, like the Magpies Vs Acorns, two top teams facing each other putting up a defensive battle. Or the Islanders receiving Steel with both teams putting up a show. Lanmeur went on to "steal" one in Serbia from the polar bears.

Teams that impressed me the most were the Ravencitos who crushed a seasoned team Maciucarii, and the current champs Ducks who don't seem to be missing a beat, they didn't traveled to the Bahamas to extend vacation. They went there and dealt a good team a big loss!

Here are the full list of results in week I:
