What topics are exactly used to give the rating to players? It's the average skill points better than X points then you get a Y* rating, for example?

the positional rating represents the skills of a player, basically.

If I'm not mistaken, the experience is involved as well.

BTW, I feel it would be useful to have a better gauge of player's abilities by actually using ALL five rating stars.
Right now, even the lousiest players have one star, and I couldn't find a 4-star one even on the best teams' rosters.

Same way, it'd be nice to have all positions rated by the same standard.
To me, it looks like CB stars are much cheaper than S, let alone DL.
And FB position is even stingier.

I have 4 on defense and none a cb.

4 star dl I drafted in the first draft

4 star dl I bought

4 star lb I drafted

4 star lb my first overall draft pick ever.

I have 5 player on offense at 3.5 stars.

I have 9 more defensive players that are at 3.5 stars.

That's my point exactly!

If two among the best teams in the game, have barely half a dozen 4* (actually, more like 4 of them each), there's a problem with this kind of rating.
Five stars are impossible (?) to reach. Even 4-and-a-half.... doesn't exist.

I would like to see the whole 5* spectrum used.
It would make for a more precise reading, gauging players on the market, and when scouting.
Not to mention, it would help new users to effectively set their rosters up.

If I had to guess, a 5* player would need 48 - 50 skill points in each relevant non-physical, along with max experience. This only seems viable for QB / K / P.

It also doesn't sound very.affordable

...and it is not the goal to provide each team with such players
