I am only asking so I can better understand the game, but why do you ignore the player current ratings? Is it because they wouldn't play for you right away anyway? That's part of it. I've developed equations for each position that weights the skills and physicals (and EXP, Intel, TW and age) as I enter the data and it spits out numbers on what I think a player will look like when he starts his age 25 season. sfniner08 wrote:Example:
2 players at the same position with ratings of 3, and 3.5 and both are 18 years old. Now I would prioritize speed/strength/intelligence/tw/traits of course. I would use the rating as a tie breaker if I was torn at all. In this example, the player I would go with would likely be the one with the higher rating, but that would be reflected in my formulas as we can presume the one with the higher rating has higher trained skills. I did get into some trouble in the past by relying only on my formulas because of the unknown physical caps, so I've added an additional step during which I will rate players into different tiers, and then within the tiers, I would arrange based on my formula score. A strength or speed of 50 goes a long way to moving a player up to a higher tier, in my system |

I wish I knew what point it makes a difference in terms of physicals. What I mean is a difference of a player with 49 speed vs 50 speed a significant difference? 48 to 50? Obviously a higher number is better but what is the breaking point I wonder.....

I suppose to be more specific here is an example:
say a wr has speed of 49 and catches the ball on the 45 while the CB has a speed of 50 and is 5 yards behind. Is that difference of 1 too much to catch up? How many yards could you go before you are caught. I suppose if I was able to think about it terms like this it would be easier to know. However I also understand not knowing exactly is what can create more diversity in player creating. |

Man, this is from 13 ys ago
As far as I remember I was starting with the record of the 40 yds dash and made the assumption this would be 100%. From that, I started introducing speed into the engine, and adjusted from that. 100% speed of a Lineman is different from 100% speed of a safety, as example. |

That raises two more questions:
1) On a special team are a 50 Speed DE and 50 Speed SF having the same speed 2) Is there a dependency on Strength? Is a higher strength making a player slower? |

Not my first draft, and since the last turned out not that bad I guess I did something right, but:
The Manual as well as Jack6 tell me that I have to set the whole board which I want to do now. But I do not understand: Do I set my favorites at #1, #2, #3 and so on, so my order reflects the draft how ->I<- would pick from #1 to #96? Or do I set them at the positions where I'm about pick, which would mean that I push all the draftees that I estimate would be picked higher above that? Last edited on 2022-11-20 13:41:43 by Chrill |

Set them up in the order you want to pick them. It is like this: When it is your turn to pick. You pick the first player on your list that hasn't been already picked.
