Not sure what I'm doing wrong
I sold most of my big earners. I signed a few players and activated the HR Department to help me long term however I still seem to be losing money. Some weeks I break even. It seems my team is broken? So I've come to the conclusion : I can continue to limp on through I can sell everyone and rebuild, training people better so they don't suck every penny out of the coffers through wages Start again with a new team and the knowledge I have gained. I know I've mentioned this before but Any advice? |

You are losing money because your players salary is big. Your coaches salary is ok, but still 1.9M to add on top of that.
If you activated the HR Department and you offered contracts to players with at least 2 skills over 44, of course they ask for money which is also the reason for that high players salary. You need to find a balance to when it's a great time to give your players a 2, 3 years or franchise (4-5 years) contract. In my humble opinion, the first time you should do that is after you take their most important skills (A+B), near 40 (not over) and give them contracts depending on talent and age. As Johnny said before, when a player reaches or goes over 44 at 2 skills (agility included) they start becoming very expensive. I will show you my support to let go of those expensive players and start with new one, because if you chose to start with a new team, all your progress, titles will be lost, but it's your decision.  |

Some of these mistakes are difficult to undo without selling my last remain 'star players' and rebuilding. Rebuilding however will take time as the money will take seasons to rebuild, even if I drop wages to under £2million. If I'm not competitive for a few seasons I know I might get bored |

In the meantime you will increase your Economy section very well in the next 2 season, while your players will grow very nicely. Check 1, check 2 (he still has a little high salary because he still has some old players), check 3 (he started rebuilding in the start of season 52 and look how nicely his team developed in this last 2 season with a very young squad). So it can be done, your not the first or the last who has done this and this players don't have to be yours (from the YA), you can have them via draft or the TM. |

I'm a fan of long franchise histories and this financial collapse is part of your history. You can radically rebuild now and then be competitive again in 12 months or you can found a new franchise (Sea Devils region of course) and then be competitive in 11 months. Either way, you will have to part with your great players. So that can't be the reason to decide for or against one of the two options.
I was once in the situation like you. I'm currently balancing being somewhat competitive and making money. My account balance currently starts with a 3 and I think in S56 I will have reached half a billion. that was my goal. Since this season I have the first players for the legendary time from then on. |
