Welcome to Bet the Sea Devils NC West Week #5
Let's not mess around with this and start on the bottom. The 1-3 Minnesota Silvers travel to the 11,100 seat, “Toxic Vivarium” for week 5 matchup against 1-3 AFROS. The AFROS are currently tied for the division lead in the AC South. I kid you not on any of those facts. “Bloody Noob”Manager aceXmagnum was not available for comment. For the love of all that is good could the Silvers cover the 60 points. Please. I will never bet on bots or almost bots. It's time to wake Mr. 1 interception Chad Thurman up! Let's go! I you absolutley need to bet this contest, Silvers giving 60. Minnesota Minotaurs 1-3 at Riga Smokers 1-3 Smokers+3 Chad could learn a lot from Minnesota Minotaur LB Danil Dundas and his 5 picks. The Stud LB leads his team east to take on the Smokers. The Smokers have been getting choked out early in their 3 losses to the Packers, Tigers and Northern Storm. I don't expect a lot of trouble here for the Minotaurs. They should be be able to get over that devastating 1 point loss last week against the Corsairs and win here. Giving only 3, Take the Bull by the horns here. Minotaurs -3 Vancouver Corsairs 3-1 hosting Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 EVEN Tale of the tape Wed: 72.8 895 Corsairs 72.2 888 Dead even. League H2H, 7-2 Corsairs. Except for that hiccup against the 4-0 Devon Warriors, Wednesday has been taking care of business. Going 3-1 against the line. Always like that. The Pirates of the West are 2-2 against the spread this year and it all has to do with points scored. Big points against Mavericks 54 (RIP) and Hamburg Baltic Dogs 45. While only 27 in week 1 against the Traders and 24 in last weeks game against the Minotaurs. Here's what I'm going to do. Wednesday to Win BUT I'm going to bet an equal amount on the 3X money bet on Vince Rife having 1.5+ picks. In an ideal world Wednesday wins with Rife throwing 2 picks. If he throws more, Wednesday is going to lose but we win the side action. Think of it as insurance. Kladno Ravens 1-3 at Michigan Weasel Traders 3-0 Traders -7.5 Tale of the tape: 61.7 522 Ravens 79.6 897 Traders The Division leading 1-3 Ravens?? The Ravens put up 34 points against the Silvers for their win. Scoring only 13, 23 and 16 in losses against teams I have never heard of not named AFROS. Season Opener at La Casa Grande. Coming off the bye week and the power is back on in Otsego County and it's time for football. The squad has done it's part with line crushing wins of 14,14 and 81 points during the 3 “road” games. They are going to be really fired up to be back home. Gamblers love a team that keeps piling on the points. Traders cover the 7.5 easy. |

Got to give it to Jared Watkins, didn't expect him to pick off The Sea Jarls QB after he just came from the YA last season.
Maybe Thurman Should start being the teacher instead of the student, which should be a big opportunity for Watkins. Offense ofc needs some work, I'm still believing in Richard, but I think he needs a new playbook to learn. Can't go with this playbook for the entire season. |

Game Day Update
When Timmy "the Greek" Snyder sets a line, as a rule it stays where the master prognosticator sets it. However, this week a massive flow of money has been coming in on a prop bet that we need to discuss. When betting opened for this week, Wednesday QB Vince "rhymes with strife" Rife had an over under of 1.5 interceptions thrown. That line has moved to 2.5 picks as very few bettors were taking the under. (as an aside, most of the betting money has been coming from across the pond as English punters are jumping all over this bet) If you were able to get action in early on the over 1.5 picks, consider yourself lucky and think about now taking the 2.5 under. That would lock in a wash on 1 or 3+ picks and a huge payday on exactly 2 picks. The Corsairs are not immune to the Rife disease. Chisolm(5) and Cary(4) have combined to match Rife(9) for playing catch with opposing defenders. Total combined interceptions for the game now stands at 4.5 and continues to rise as we get closer to gametime. |

Bet the West Week 5 Review
Ugh! Highlights 2-0 Traders put a whupping on the Ravens 62-7 to cover (I thought Radu's squad was better than this) Minotaurs snuff out the Smokers 33-28 to cover. Lowlights 1-2 Silvers beat Afros 37-0 but do not cover. Interesting side note here. Wonderboy Chad Thurman played only 34 snaps. No word from the Silvers on the decreased playing time for their star LB. The Freakin Canadians put on a late rally to beat Wednesday 24-17. NO PICKS in this contest. This week the games get better as we go down the list. First up: (4-0)Michigan Weasel Traders @ (0-4)Downriver Seals +13 Tale of the Tape: MWT 79.5/894 (4-0 against line) DS 51.1/477 (0-4 against line) NCWest division leader vs. NCEast division basement dweller. The Seals are going through an offensive crisis averaging fewer than 7 points per game. When the line is giving you more points than you can score, that's not good. Take the Traders and give the 13. (1-4)Commanders @ (4-1)Vancouver Corsairs -14 Tale of the Tape: Com 45.2/495 (line1-4) VC 72.0/899 (line3-2) The Commanders are tied for the lead of the ACSouth despite only having 1 3-star rated player. Meanwhile the Corsairs continue to baffle the betting world with their hot/cold scoring. The boys from Vancouver will put up more than the 24 they scored in their last 2 games. Take the Corsairs and give the 14. Note: One person made the comment that they should make the opposite bet than what is suggested here. One more underperformance from the sneaky 51st staters and I am going to agree with them. (4-1)Copenhagen Chargers @ (2-3)Minnesota Silvers +5 Tale of the Tape: CC 72.6/622 (line4-1) MS 64.8/596 (line2-3) Unlike the first 2 games highlighted his is going to be a decent ball game, but I don't think it's going to be that close. The Chargers have been averaging 41 ppg while the Silvers have yet to score more than 37 in any game this year. (and that was against the lowly AFROS.) Take the Chargers giving the 5. (4-1)Northern Storm @ (2-3)Minnesota Minotaurs +6 Tale of the Tape: NS 62.1/604 (line4-1) MM 62.5/511 (line(3-2) With their win against the Black Knights last week, the Storm have really shown that they can play. Shame they are in the same division as the mighty Tigers. Anyway, these 2 have a common opponent in the Riga Smokers. Both teams beat the Smokers with the Storm winning by 24 in week 4 and the Minotaurs winning by 5 in week 5. I don't know why the Minotaurs hold a soft spot in my heart but that won't be enough this week. Take the Storm and give the 6 points. |

Love me a NC West Matchup First up: (2-4)Minnesota Silvers @ (5-0)Michigan Weasel Traders -10.5 Tale of the Tape: MS 64.8/596 (line2-4) MWT 78.2/891 (5-0 against line) Silvers come into this game with only 15 TD's in 6 games. 2.5 touchdowns a game sounds ok, until you look at the Weasel traders gaudy 36 TD's in only five games. An astonishing 7.2 per game Take the Traders and give the 10.5. As a side note rumours continue to swirl regarding the diminished playing time and production for much hyped Chad Thurman. Chad has 2 picks and only 17 tackles this year. Silver management has yet to comment. (5-1)Vancouver Corsairs @ (1-5) North Sea Jarls. +8.5 Tale of the Tape: VC 72.0/901 (line4-2) NSJ 73.6/753 This line is way too low. The Jarls have only 94 points scored this season, 15.6/game. If only they had a better than 30th ranked pass defense to save them. Contrast the Corsairs putting up 39.5/game with the number 1 pass offense in the league. Qb's Chisolm and Cary go big here for the Corsairs as they cover the 8.5 (2-4)Minnesota Minotaurs @ (2-4)Kladno Ravens Even Tale of the Tape: MM 62.8/512 (line(4-2) KR 62.0/525 This is the tale of 2 divisions here. The 2-4 Ravens lead the AC South while the 2-4Minotaurs are battling to stay out of the NC West celler. I know the tale of the tape and the line says this is going to be close, but common opponent Italian Bears says otherwise. Ravens squeeked by last week 17-13. While the Minotaurs whupped the Bears 38-17 back in week 3. Minotaurs all the way! The Minotaurs got you and your money safe. Bet on the Bulls.
