After making predictions for each and every game this season, very much as Radu does, this is how Week 1 turned out : Biggest Shocks The biggest shock of the week was Michigan Weasels defeat at Vancouver. After winning the last 6 meetings between the 2 sides i had The Weasels in Week 1. Fantastic victory for Bruce. Wasn't expecting it, to be honest. When Q4 we were wining by 4 (20-24), I was expecting something like 2 consecutive ints FROM MY SIDE and game over. But, this time they went to the other side. Ninja is a complete newbie QB, but he didn't do too badly! But my theory of the name avoiding ints... wrong! ;-) |

After the second crushing home-loss this week, the first one being a 21:34 Supercup-defeat by the turigtians esports club that just happened yesterday, the HAMBURG SEA LIONS squad left the field making the impression of a beaten puppy. Too brutal did it hit losing the ball 6 yards shy to the Storms goalline in crunch-time, when despite all blunders that happened earlier in the game they had the chance to at least tie it with 2:35 to go in the fourth quarter. They did not get the ball back after Northern Storm MLB Severino Dupond, who had caused the fumble initially, took the ball back all the way to midfield, from which his team easily let the clock run out.
Of all SEA LIONS players it was FB Andreas Danielsson, whose turnover essentially ended the game tonight, who made himself available to the media after the game. SDSC: Hello, Andreas! Another brutal loss at home, those last 2 minutes were almost chillingly silent throughout the stadium. Danielsson: Yeah, well, the shock was quite understandable, right? I was quite shocked myself, because Severino came out of nowhere behind Kirimi to punch the ball out. SDSC: You did show some great hustle going after him immediately to bring him down midfield. Danielsson: Well, that’s part of the job, too. You always go for the ball, and if you lose it you do everything to get it back. SDSC: That’s the second loss in a row, at home and against teams that one would think could have been handled better. What’s missing right now? Danielsson: We are early in the season, so I’d like not to paint a picture in all too dark colours. SDSC: But you can’t be overly confident, given that you have to play some major competition in the upcoming games. The Magpies, the Sailors… Danielsson: Yes, we can be very confident. Maybe we do not play to the strenghts of the team right now, but we do have awesome coordinators who will figure something out for us to put on the field. It will get better soon. SDSC: We sure hope so. Thank you, Andreas. ![]() Last edited on 2025-09-23 18:51:05 by Chrill |

Severino was a great CB & pulled off some clutch interceptions for us. His switch to MLB has been a revelation so far.

Moods are good in the HAMBURG SEA LIONS facilities. They returned home after two games on the road, and they took home two wins, dialing up the record to 4–2.
They backed up their impressive performance at the Packers with another inspiring game at Rome. They got up 14:0 in the first quarter, when QB Bryant Stover found Star WR Dau Ngige for the first and up- and rising Star Moritz Schröder for the second TD through the air. They continued to score through all quarters, thus preventing the opponent from coming too close for discomfort. In the fourth quarter the Torresina dam then completely broke and Stover added two more TDs, one of them on the ground. He earned MVP-honors after the game, already the 5th time that happened this season in league games. His 10 total TDs in the last 3 games that they played are a testament to the quality of play he currently provides. SDSC was able to speak to him on Wednesday, when he was at a charity event at a children’s hospice with the SEA LIONS Rookies. SDSC: Thank you, Bryant, for your time. When we last spoke, after your week 4 loss against the Packers last season, you were 1–3 and sharing playing time with your fellow QB Alfredo Richter. Now you’re coming off a win at the Packers, you’re 4–2 and the starter under center. Stover: What a difference a seasons time makes, right? SDSC: It’s true. But what precisely has changed? Stover: Well, we all got better, thanks to training and taking the right clues from what has not gone right last season, or even at the beginning of this season. We now have the plays to score in each quarter, which was a problem for us. SDSC: It seems they put the ball in your hands more. Stover: And I try to make the most of it. Thankfully it does work at the moment, and we have to keep on pushing to keep the momentum. SDSC: What are you looking forward to in the coming weeks? Stover: We have two important home games coming up, against competition from our own conference. We want to win those. After that we’ll see what might be possible in the second half of the season. SDSC: Tell us a bit about what you’re doing here. Stover: Well, we try to bring a little joy to the children here. And to give a helping hand to the people working here, who do an admirable job. It’s important to remind, sometimes yourself, that there’s a lot of things you can do to make life better for those who can’t do it themselves anymore. SDSC: Thank you, Bryant, and your fellow team mates, too. ![]() |

Its all been a bit quiet this season with Stablers IP issues, Timmy the Greeks absence and even St Pauli seem quieter than usual...
For me, im just busy. When I'd usually do some writing whilst sat in a bar waiting for train connections etc im actually having to do work instead. And with Football Manager 26 out in just a few weeks i dont really envisage much change to that in the near future. They'll be some tidbits though. Playoff previews and such. |

Hello, everyone, this is Timmy the Greek with your SDMOTW
Lots of good games this week. Hard to narrow it down to just one game. So we will just talk about all the candidates until we close in on the SDMOTW. Michigan Weasels at Bergen Bruisers+3 The Bruisers have never beaten the Weasels in the modern era. That ends now. Take the points and the Bruisers. Constanta Sailors at St. Pauli Packers+4.5 Two storied franchises go at it. Pack haven't won since S53. I think that continues. Give the points and sail on. Manta Rays at HAMBURG SEA LIONS Even Big matchup between the current wildcards. Manta Rays show why they are the higher seed. Sheffield Wednesday+8 at London Silverbacks. Silverbacks get first real test. It will be a closer game than the line suggests. Back the Owls getting the 8 points. All of these games would make a great SDMOTW. But now it is time. Ladies and Gentlemen, your Sea Devils Match Of The Week! Union+1 at Baltimore Blue Crabs. This game could not be more evenly matched. The new kids on the block with similar names (Raoul25, TigerTail25) get to set a pecking order between them, As you can see from the information below these franchises were born 2 days apart in S61. There is a slight advantage in OVR and ELO for the Blue Crabs, but the full complement of coaches for Union will also be a distinct advantage. I do also have concern that the game will be played in tiny Campbell field where the Blue Crabs can only seat 55,500. This lack of revenue has got to be hurting Baltimore long term. But, right here, right now? Give the point and take the Blue Crabs at home. My stadium looks smaller because of the Upgrades. Should be finished tonight to bump my seats to 95,000 and then After that I'll get it up to the full size.
Still this one is going to be up in the air, we'll see where it lands Last edited on 2025-10-13 16:41:20 by TigerTail25 |

Ah well. Didn't wanna play in the playoffs anyway |

I don't think you should pay any attention to anyone who goes 0-5 on picks.
