So how is a player selected to fill in for an injured player if the depth chart is exhausted? Is it just a random player from that position (not on the depth chart) or is it more complicated than that?

I think that it's a random guy from the Depth Chart... You cannot have a substitute from outside the DC

one thing I've wondered is how are subs handled if you s e l e c t never to sub that position no matter what the PC? I use my QB like that.

Sometimes I do not sub my QB out, but I add his backup to the Depth Chart.

I would avoid a pass-oriented offensive gameplan until you have a solid #2 QB.
