What I find is a lot of managers want to come up with a way to trick or produce mismatches against the defense. Per Qtr settings would make that far easier but IMO not fair to the defense as it would struggle to adjust on a per qtr basis. I feel we would end up with a shoot out format like another site I could think of where the Defense is more of an after thought.

So from me to per qtr settings

I agree with this sentence "What I find is a lot of managers want to come up with a way to trick or produce mismatches against the defense"

However, plenty of Managers are currently writing 'trick playbooks' in order to trick the Defense. So why not make their life easier, and more importantly, their playbooks more realistic and less gimmicky by allowing per Quarter Match Settings ?

btw ..."I feel we would end up with a shoot out format like another site I could think" ......... no idea which site that is, but it sounds fantastic

Totally agree and this would make the playbook redundant. Why spend an hour or so creating a varied playbook when you can have one just as varied in the match settings per quarter?

Next we will have someone suggesting offensive audibles to trick the engine ......... wait!

I don't see this as a big deal really. I mean we can already do this, but it is cumbersome to have a giant list of plays. It would be nice just to make the playbook creating more user friendly. An example would be to have 5 tabs in the playbook for each quarter and OT. I don't understand the objections that this suggestion would really do anything different than is already available.

...and add in my idea about O's being able to adjust to Ds and you have a real winner.

This would get a little complex but it wouldn't be mandatory. And in any case it would be less complex than the present PB situation.
