This could work pretty well inside a league, but it would be kind of iffy on cup games.

Without certitude, I think I read years ago that ELO on RZA considers 10 seasons. Maybe changing it to 5 seasons would be a nice idea.

There is no time limit on the ELO calculation, Pete has confirmed before that ELO is over the entire career of a manager but yeah I agree with you, I think a 5 seasons limit would make sense.

I believe this isn't possible based in the ELO concept.

It think the only option would be balancing it at sesson rollover by calculating the average ELO of all teams and reducing the ELO value of all teams above average by x % and increasing it of the teams below by x %.

ELO isn't perfect, but it's not that horrible. There are periods where it doesn't make much sense when a new team is on the upswing and a veteran team is rebuilding. But the morale hit can be mostly fixed in one training with the use of one facility. Sure, it stinks to have to waste a training session to repair morale and to have to burn some financial resources on the swimming pool, but the game isn't supposed to be easy. And eventually the new teams will have big ELOs, too. I think nearly half the top 10 joined after S20, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a S30+ team crack the top 10 soon.

I agree it is not that terrible too. But if technically possible, why not improving it?

I believe a system based on the last five seasons would be reasonable. Or a weighing factor per season so that the most recent season has the biggest influence.

Maybe if there was some reward for being ELO top 5 or top 10 at the end of a season (like a trophy) at then maybe it would make up for the morale penalty?

To me it seems like the average period is a bit too long - - I haven't been the top team for quite some time, but there I am, #1.

Wow...8 team logjam at the top of the AC conference...will make for an interesting final four games for division titles & playoff spots.

NC not so exciting...I think most of the spots are decided...maybe the seeding will change.

Time for the next predictions and match previews for another week with crazy matchups :

16_horsepower vs. BU Terriers
The 16 horses will save all their power in preparation of the draft. Boston, on the other hand, will not only win this match but will also have their eyes on the match of the Elephants against the runners. With four matches to go the Terriers are 3 wins behind. They could still make it. the fans in the Nickerson Field will be happy to keep their hopes alive.

BobBoy Magpies vs. Comeback Kids
The battle for the AC East is a definite highlight of the week. The advantage of the Kids is to play at home. The advantage of the Magpies is that Mark has been absent since December 22nd. By now it is likely that he won't check in before the match making his playbook extremely predictable. And dell-g knows how to win against the Kids. In the SC playoffs of last season the Magpies triumphed 45-24 in the Kids Playground, also known as Killer Field.

BoneCrushers vs. Werewolves
Both are flying a bit under the radar. And for both this match is very important. The Crushers are in third place in their division and two wins behind the Eagles and need the win badly to maintain a chance to catch up. Werewolves are two wins ahead the Gardians and almost seem to be safe to stay if it was not for the surprising win of Drogon's team against the Bulls. In my eyes the Crushers will get this one in their first encounter ever..

Catalunya 1714 vs. Hell Hounds
With Catalunya sure to be relegated I don't see them winning in the Hell's Armpit where close to 144300 Hellman's are expected. To scare the Catalans even more and as superstitious as they are, neither fans nor players have showered since theist loss of the Hounds one week ago.

Deflators vs. AS Roma Wolves
The longest winning streak of the AC belongs to the Wolves. It seems that they are as good as gone to Admiral's 1st league. But, they might actually still make up the 4 wins defunct if really Mark stays absent and eventually even goes bot. The Wolf's Den will see the fourth win in a row of the Wolves.

Diorite Lions vs. Black Dragons
RZA MATCH OF THE DAY ! This honour is well deserved as we start to say good bye to the team that has been in Elite since the start. Next season the Death Cave will host matches in the Monarch 1st league for the first time since 2015. With the Lions they receive one of the 8 8-4 teams in AC that needs to win in order to stay in elite and make the playoffs. I believe I lost most money this season on the Dragons as I always believed that Angus would still turn things around. This time I go with diorite who has more to win or lose today.

Gardians vs. LoneStar Armadillos
One month ago the Dillos gave their fans the only win of the season against the Gardians. The surprise win of the Gardians against the Bulls turn the French team into the favorite fo this one on the Tom Landry Field.

Home Malones vs. Bradford Bulls
The home crowd in the Odsal Stadium also hopes for a late wonder. If the Malones fly back home with a win, the Bulls will be heading back to Monarch 1. And anything but a win of the Malones would be a huge surprise even though it already happened not so long ago in the Monarch Bowl of last season.

Peoples Republic of Yorkshire vs. Green Mark Packers
The GM Lambeau will turn out in full force and with cheese on their heads to shout the Packers to victory. With the Kids manager being absent, the two win deficit can still be made up in the last four matches of the season. A win against the popular Yorkies is a must.

Rome Centurions vs. Lyon Eagles
Another match that feels like a playoff preview. Both are in the group of 8 AC teams for 8-4. Both need this win. So who will shine brighter in the Field of Lights? Will the Centurions march in and take the win or will the Eagles fly to unreachable heights? As Tullo always wins when I call on his opponent to win, he will be happy to see me siding with the Eagles.

Salt City Pirates vs. Leeds Celtics
The Celtics went 3-0 in the Friendly cup group phase. They won against the reigning champion. And here comes the No1 team of the power ranks to the Graveyard. Whatever happens, Celtics fans will be happy with their team as their team won't lose much morale if losing against the Pirates.

San Diego Blitz vs. Chelt Nam Bobbers
The first ranked team in ELO visits the home of the first ranked team of Elite if we go by the season stats. No wonder the Green Inferno will be filled to the last seat as both teams fight for the bye week and some sponsor money. Their last three matches went in favor of San Diego and I believe, this one will as well.

Social Distance Runners vs. Dumbarajko Elephants
The first ever visit of the Runners to Serbia and the Požarevački hipodrom has the feel of a playoff match. Both teams are fighting for the 6th place. they are equal in wins and only one point apart. Most of their season stats are extremely similar. The winner is likely to make the playoffs. Both managers have lots of respect for each other but now their friendship is put to a serious test. I wil not be an Elefan until this match is over. To start the hostilities I will chose the same tactics that seemed to work against the Gladiators and predict an Elewin.

TigerCats vs. GLADIATORI ROMA
The Gladiators are particularly scared of big cats this season. They got 45 points from the TiCats in their post match and also 45 points by the Lions. The fans in the Colosseo fear for the worst as the TiCats need this win badly to make the playoffs as they are one of the 8. A win by the Cats will also seal the fate of the Gladiators as they will have to go back to the Fire 1.

Växjö Gladiators AFC vs. DC Washingtonians
After their loss against the runners these Gladiators need to win if they want to stay in Elite. A trip to the Rock Creek Park in DC has never been fun for the Swedish team as they are 0-7.

Willemstad Bridges vs. Valiant Pinoys
A win against the current champion would be an incredible badge of honour for our heroes Filipino team. The last time the Bridges came to the Badge of Honour they actually lost. this was back in February 2020. The way, the Pinoys are improving, it could happen again. But it is unlikely.

For which match do you wholeheartedly agree ? And where did I mess up ? Tell me.

There was a scorigami in the NFL yesterday, so that means Rome, bulls, runners all get wins tomorrow.

Are you outing my intended ? I thought, betting on the elephants would be a sure winner. Now I am a bit scared.

What was the scorigami ?
