Well, what can I say, Mighty Lions take over the top spot in these Power Rankings....LOOOOOOOOOOL! First I didn't do it on purpose aldo I could of done it, secondly, it's all downhill from here! HeHe.

Portlanders lost against the Dynamos, and even though wins/losses are not accounted for for this, naturaly when you face a top contender you will see your rating go down because it's tough to put up good numbers on them yards wise, and also tough to defend against them. So don't read to much into any of this, they are simply for fun. BZH also is very well ranked like the Lions but just like the Lions I think their schedule has been softer than others, the Lions however already played all 3 teams in their division, both dutch teams are tough, the newcomer team is struggling a bit, but with experience comes knowledge, so I hope they hang tough. Lions also had to deal with Alcatraz who is not a picnic at the park...So right now I can't really say I was expecting them to top the PR but they have done very well. Can't talk for BZH though. I see the champs very strong again, same for the Blue Bulls and Eagles, the usual suspects are also in there...lurking...

If by no picnic you mean throws picks on the only offensive play they run in overtime... then yeah. I suppose we might be the best 3 loss but I guess that's to be expected when you play Steel and Gladiators/D.R.E. twice, draw all of the AC (b)East(s) along with the Magpies and the Destroyers. There's no way we even sniff 10-6 again sadly, and all the yards in the world change that fact.

It's great to see the Fire forum active a little bit and it's all due to Canonico's ranking so here's to the Lions, buddy.

Just out of curiosity (and to get the discussion going) how would you rank the teams in your own Conference? (I don't follow the AC as closely as I do the NC so I think it makes more sense for managers to rank their own conference rather than the whole league but if you'd rather do that go ahead)

I'll start since I'm bringing this up. In the NC imo the teams would rank like this:

Tier 1, conference title favorites:
Dynamos & ROMA.

Tier 2, playoffs appearance favorites:
Blue Bulls, Lambruschia, CARDIACJACKETS, Portlanders & Eagles.

Tier 3, potential surprises:
NextDreamTeam, Fargo Knights, Ravencitos.

Tier 4, will need a season or two to challenge for a PO spot:
Real Paolid, Maciucarii, neroverde, Vipers, Red Knights & Angry Beavers.

Ah! Lions had a hard fought loss against your Destroyers in last season Divisional round, I expect a close game against last season's dark horse team. But first, Lions need to focus on Maciiucari, they can be tough to get through. Lions are 1-1 against them in the league, so need to be ready for that one though.

After many seasons of relax I have a team to beat in our division, great

Glad you enjoy them.

Oh yea, Portlanders are playing solid RZA football. I don't think it's a fluke that they are so well ranked, despite not thinking they (just like the Lions) will finish the season top 5. But they can beat anyone on any given day, so a dangerous team for you to have in your division. Which makes it more fun IMO.

Yep, we are 3 & 3 agaisnt each other lifetime, and 2-2 in league games. Destroyers got the advantage of beating me in the postseason though.

It was a close game like others have been, I honestly think my team was slightly better than Alcatraz that day, not by much though. It always hurts to lose in OT, reguardless of how it is. I had (and will keep having) plenty of those myself.

Here's the latest example. Last season SC Playoff game vs Preechie's team, I score on a hail mary to end the 4th quarter and tie the game (incredible). Then my team has a great drive that stalls in their 7 yard line, onr 3rd down my QB gets sacked for 7 yards loss. So here comes the FG unit for what looks like a cheap shot game winner, my kicker misses. Preecie's team take over, and they burn my secondary for a 54 yards TD pass to end the game. See what I mean?

Your team had a brutal schedule to begin, and the division their in is very tough, probably the toughest right now. But they're holding their own, and they brought strength to our league. They absolutely have my respect from day one and I don't see them for their record, I know they could be #1 in a diferent division. That's my opinion.

My perception of the AC.

Note: Some teams I never even played against to have an idea of their ability, so take this with a huge grain of salt please.

I think we are a Tier 3 team, and we really had no reason to be in that game against y'all.

There is no way our division puts 3 teams in the playoffs each season and I don't think we'll be better than Steel (who we are 1-5 against) in the next few seasons and we'll probably never be as good as the Gladiators/D.R.E. I still love the challenge and maybe I'll be wrong and we can get 3 teams in the playoffs again.

I appreciate the Tier 1 ranking Alex but don't think it's deserved (yet). I'm 1-5 in the POs so although I do qualify on a consistent basis and have good regular seasons I don't think I'm a threat to win the conference just yet.

WEEK V UPDATE

Info: Added a 'trend' feature to the table, it's not really a trend per say, it's simply the movement that happens with each team every week, they either maintain position, or go up/down in the PR table, that 'trend' is supposed to ilustrate it.

Note:
Maximum Power Points Possible = 64 points
Minimum Power Points Possible = 2 points

P.O.R. = Pass Offense Ranking
R.O.R. = Rush Offense Ranking
P.D.R. = Pass Defense Ranking
R.D.R. = Rush Defense Ranking

Info: *** = Team had Bye Week.

Source: http://i41.tinypic.com/33p9dsl.png

And we have a new team leading the pack on the PR after this week. The Lanmeur BZH overtook the Lions even with their (kind of) suprising loss to the Islanders, the fact is they lost do to their QB throwing 3 pics Iirc, they did dominated the yards, but this only comes to prove how futile yards gained and allowed can trully be. Reguardless more times than not I would put money on Lanmeur to win that game that they just lost.
Moving on, the Magpies had one heck of a game against the Blue Bulls, a 24-20 win that catapulted them to the 2nd spot on the PR ranks, while the Blue Bulls dropped some positions but are one tough cookie to swallow, be aware of them moving forward, I'm sure they will climb this ranks quickly.
In the other big game of this week the suprising Portlanders went to Italy to faceoff against the current champs, and they didn't do too badly, sure they lost and that's never good, but they made GLADIATORI ROMA work for the win, and for the first time this season ROMA showed some weaknesses in certain areas that other teams may exploit in the future. All do to the Portlanders solid game once again, this time was short though.
In another interesting game the Lyon Eagles flew over to the States to try and beat the CARDIACJACKETS...didn't happen, the game was close until the 4th quarter where the Eagles QB Vincent (poor guy's probably beeing sold as I type this) threw 2 picks, one already in FG range, and the other already in 'JACKETS territory in a promissing drive. Still the CARDIACJACKETS deserved the win and proved they are ready to win NC North!

In the bottom we have a new red lantern, the Thoroughbreds, it seems like their owner is not interested in assembling a competitive team this season and is investing in youth while selling some of his best players, a strange decision but one that is his to make. Meanwhile they are now bottom of the table and may find themselves there when it's all said and done!

That's all the time for updates I have this week, thanks for reading and I look forward to get my ass whopped by the Destryers on Thursday...until then...and with no offense to anyone...

Well, make it count, that's usualy when it's more challenging and when one 'learns' something here and there.
