So? What about your first pick?

Got myself a 3 stars XP LB. 44/39 both low cap. We will see in a couple of weeks if it was worthing a first round pick. 50 INT also and 19 years old. If he can reach 47/42 he will be a great MLB. Fingers crossed.

I got what i want, a young CB, because i had 5 from my 6 CB over the age of 29. So it was the right decicion for me. Special Trait, 21 und 4,5 stars. Ok speed is capped by 45 but ok for me

Mine was crap. Everyone picked what few good players their were in this draft before it got to me. Think I got my like 12th pick. lol Red cap at 38str, speed yellow at 42. oh well, the player was a bit of a gamble and I lost.

My 19 yo RB is red at 42 str and yellow at 35 spd. Geez, it seems that I almost always get the Legarette Blounts of RZA.
Oh well, at least he got 50 TW.

S21 DRAFT RECAP
by: WorpeX

The first round of the S21 draft has just finished and the aftermath is starting to clear. Teams are starting to figure out what kind of prospect they drafted. How did teams fair? Well, the draft is a bit of a crap shoot but some good scouting can really help make sure you pick up the best prospect. I'll go over each teams pick and talk about how that player looks on paper.

Some of the major factors I look for in players are these: Age, Experience, Teamwork, Intelligence, Physicals and Traits. I will also reference three different scoring metrics in this post:

Physical Score - Total of Speed/Strength
Natural Score - Calculation based on Age/Experience/Teamwork/Intelligence and Trait
Total Score - Combination of Physical and Natural Score

Hope everyone got good picks! Remember, this is all opinion based so if you disagree please feel free to tell me why and dont forget to let me know how your player turned out!

Enjoy!

1. КАФ Инђија Индианс - QB - Nui Nut (Renamed to Radoslav Seselj)

First of all, im rather upset that this player was renamed. Nui Nut was such a beautiful name! It just flowed so well! No matter, this player is trash. With the first pick in the draft you have to pick the best player on the board regardless of need. This dude woulda lasted till Round 2 as I doubt anyone else wanted a 23yo QB with 37 intelligence and teamwork. His physicals aren't bad though.

Grade: F

- - -

2. Gladiators - QB - Resul Qasem

If I were drafting a QB, I woulda picked this guy over Nui Nut. That's the only thing good about it though. Second round talent going in round 1. Bot pick, ill say no more.

Grade: F

- - -

3. Belconnen Barbarians- KR- Oliver Miranda

Whew, one less bad player to worry about! Thanks bot team!

Grade: F

- - -

4. Miami Dolphins- DL - Ku Thompson (Name changed to Jewell Pence)

Solid pick here. This player was rank #5 in total score by my metrics. Really young player with high experience. A shade under perfect intelligence and teamwork. Just gotta hope his physicals aren't capped early!

Grade: A

- - -

5. Hebridean Academicals- LB - Evan Wilson (Name changed to SF - Angus Harris)

I had this guy as the #1 overall player! There was only one or two players who really stood out of me as the "player of the draft" and this was one of them. Great physicals, perfect intelligence, sure tackler and hes young. Really can't go wrong with this pick here. This is a team that needed a good draft and I think they got it with this player.

Grade: A+

- - -

6. SH Cougars- SF - Chao-Tak Tongproh

Number 2 in my Natural Score metrics. He doesn't really have good physicals, but I would take this gamble too. Hes 19 with 40TW so plenty of time to get his abnormally low strength up. Long reach trait will make him a beast in a few seasons! Really great pickup from a team that doesn't normally draft well!

Grade: A-

- - -

7. Kaunas Hurricane- QB - Islom Kapadze

And the streak of sensible and smart draft choices has ended! This player has the 4th worst physicals in the draft and 26 teamwork to ensure that it takes as long as possible to train them up! At least his intelligence is higher then the QB that went #1 overall.

Grade: F

- - -

8. Wild Boars- LB - Brigo Deanov

I don't hate this pick, but I also don't think it was the best choice either. There are a lot of great LBs on the draft board still, but this guy isn't one of the top two still on the board. Brigo has great physicals, coming in at #3 overall in physical score but he has some major red flags. 22 teamwork, 1.5 experience and hes already 22. Due to how weak this draft is, I still think it was a decent pick though.

Grade: C+

- - -

9. Schrodingers Cats- LB - Ratsami Ong (name changed to Adrian Farmer)

Same as above. I really don't see why Ong was picked this early when Cabrera is still on the board. The player picked doesn't score well in physicals so the Cats will have to hope he doesn't cap early. His naturals are better but he isn't one of the many LBs in this draft to hit the 50 intelligence cap. Hes young at least.

Grade: C

- - -

10. Shizuoka Tigers- CB - Taufiq Sleiman (Name changed to Shuji Saiki)

I really like the Long Reach trait on cornerbacks. I think it really brings a lot of value to this player here. He's older with low strength, but he has good speed already. I don't like his low teamwork, but his intelligence makes up for it.

Grade: B

- - -

11. Paris Roosters- KR - Abdul Amri Yusuf (Name changed to RB - Victorien Hamon)

This pick was a major reach in my opinion, it really seems like the Roosters just looked at the speed column and ignored every other facet to the decision. While the speed of this player is nearly perfect, he has nothing else to brag about. Very low strength and he impressively made it to the very bottom of the list in natural score despite being 19yo. Poor teamwork, intelligence and experience make for a bad combination. If you want a speedy RB why not take one of the far superior running backs who are naturals at the position? Omar Jaber is better in all but one category - speed - and hes only 2 points lower.

Grade: F

- - -

12. S.V. Montagnars- CB - Marcelino Márquez (Name changed to Killian Delarue)

Wow, this player is going to be FUN to use! 50 speed and track star! No one on the field will be faster! His intelligence is lacking pretty mightily, but I can see him moving over to a RB position and working really well. The player might be a bit of a reach at 12, but he wouldn't have lasted to round 2 and this guy has potential to be a cool player.

Grade: B-

- - -

13. Gdansk Redskins- FB - Janko Jakstas

Janko Jakstas!! I love saying that name. What a poor player though. By my metrics hes 90th in Natural Score. This means that of all these players hes 90th most likely to have long-term success in RZA. Yeah...... good luck with that. He does have high strength and a slippery trait though which is cool.

Grade: D

- - -

14. Devon Warriors- LB - Rakishi Neel

There really isn't any huge knock on this player that I can see. His Intelligence and teamwork are good/moderate. His strength is high. Good age. Problem really is that he isn't outstanding and there ARE some outstanding LBs left on the board. Just an underwhelming pick, but not a bad one.

Grade: C

- - -

15. San Diego Chargers - WR - Garon Brand

This draft doesn't have any good WRs. I wouldn't even try to force a WR selection in the first round due to how bad they all are. Brand manages to be mediocre in EVERY category. Physicals, intelligence, teamwork, experience. Track Star trait is kinda cool though.

Grade: D-

- - -

16. Konjarnik HighTowers - LB - Teodor Mayberry

I like this player and I like this pick. He went right around where I expected him to get drafted at. Solid physicals, 50 intelligence and Sure Tackler. He isn't without his pitfalls, but all in all hes one of the better LB prospects in this draft.

Grade: A-

- - -

17. The Red Star Goats - LB - Iván Cabrera (Name changed to Kévin Texier)

Glad to see someone else did his researched and picked BPA! While I had Evan Wilson as #1 on my draft board, #2 was Cabrera. However, by my math, this player was actually ranked #1 overall! Very good physicals and his natural skill is off the charts. 18yo, 3* and 50 intelligence. My only reasons for putting Evan higher was that he had a trait and better physicals. Awesome pick here for the Goat, im a bit mad ill have to play him twice a year though!

Grade: A+

- - -

18. Java Waterboys - RB - Chas McGrath (Name changed to Luk Apichart)

lynx has already posted the outcome of this pick so its easier to judge now. However, not having known his caps before, I did have this guy high on my draft board. 50 teamwork is nothing to laugh at, especially for a 19yo player with pretty good natural and decent physical scores. It was a smart pick, but sadly cap luck is real.

Grade: B

Out of time. Will finish this tomorrow!

Great recap WorpeX, I really enjoy your posts and thank you for all the fun and analysis.
I had Evan Wilson at #1 , can't remember, but I think Marcelino Márquez or Chao-Tak Tongproh on #2 and Mayberry just in front of Iván Cabrera at #3. Talent and trait were close tiebreakers here.
I was hoping to pick Mayberry or Cabrera, Wilson was really longshot, he really stood out of others. Drawback with Mayberry is that he's red capped in both speed and strength, I was hoping at least to have some gap there for training... Overall, I'm satisfied with my pick.
