I understand your pain there also.. I am on the wrong side of a 1-9 win record against you also.

You will be missed!

Short preview on todays Wildcard games.

2016-09-06 17:00 Wildcard Playoff
Grand River Snakes vs. Sentinels
The teams never played against each other before, so no hint from that side available.
RZA does have the Snakes slightly better rated but sees the game evenly matched, while Beckos sees the Snake as a 9 point favorite.
I think the Snakes will win this.
They are 14-2, the Sentinals 11-5.
The home advantage of the Sentinals might give them a little more trouble than expected, but overall the should win here with even more points than the expected 9 by Beckos.
The Sentinals also have a quite low PC at 88% overall, but this could be tainted by some low PC prospects on the roster.
Still a hint on the PC against the Snakes, which are at 100%.
Snakes win.

Louisville Sharks vs. Panteras Assassinas
This is tricky.
The Assassinas are an old team, higher rated than the Sharks, but Beckos does see the Sharks as 9 point favorite, while RZA does see Assassinas as likely winner.
Last season they meet and the Sharks lost 17:21 in a regular season game at home.
Now it's a Assassinas home game and I think it will be a close game.
Who will win?
My gut says Assassinas (11-5), my logic says Sharks (13-3).
I flip a coin and pick Assassinas.

Newhouse Eagles vs. Blood Kings
Under normal conditions this should be a Kings win.
RZA and Beckos do agree here. Beckos sees the Kings as 8 point favorite.
The last meeting in season 21 was a major victory for the Kings.
The Kings (14-2) did not lose such games in the regular season, I don't think they will start this against the Eagles (9-7) at home in the playoffs.
Of cause everything is possible.
I pick the Kings.

Stradey Parc Dragons vs. Burnaby Bruisers
This is a quite interesting game.
The Dragons (11-5) had an impressive season so far and did almost win the division in their first season in 1.1. Bruisers (14-2) are an Elite-league returner.
The Dragons are low on Moral (thanks to a CoC loss and a league loss in a row) and a bit low in PC, while the Bruisers look perfect.
An upset is highly unlikely, Beckos says the Bruisers are 12 point favorite, but under given conditions I say this will be a blowout. Sorry.
Bruisers win.

If my picks are right the Divisional playoffs would look like:
Snakes @ Strike Team
Assassinas @ Panthers
Kings @ Leopards
Bruisers @ Hornets

Close game in the first half, but the 3rd quarter brought the Snakes the win.

Ooops, that was a beating. This looks like a missed game setup.

Also a quite heavy margin here. The 4th quarter was an Eagles disaster.

Well, just 9 points in margin, so against the Becko-spread the Dragons won, but still have to wait for next season.

Yeah, all predicted in the right way.

2016-09-10 17:00 Divisional Playoff
Blood Kings vs. Leverkusen Leopards
I’m not sure whether Hamakto is happy to play against my team, we meet recently in season 21 at exactly that place in the playoffs and the Kings lost and we meet also at the beginning of this season and the Kings lost again, even with a bigger margin.
RZA and Beckos (-20) do see my Leopards as favorite, which is no surprise given my record of 15-1 and the Kings record of 14-2.
Of cause I will not pick against my team here, but there is a slightly light for the Kings in this.
My team plays a quite hefty Supercup game tomorrow and that one has a high possibility to become a loss, so my teams moral will be a bit down. It will have 2 updates to recover a bit, but it will not be 100% on Saturday.
I expect a close game, but my Leopards win.

Burnaby Bruisers vs. Berinsfield Hornets
This will be interesting.
RZA sees the Hornets up front, as does Beckos (-16). But the Bruisers are a Elite returnee and they won’t go down lightly. Their RZA %-rating is higher than the Hornets one, whatever that helps.
Both teams have no additional games to play, so it’s boom or bust and both are 100% in moral and PC. Both teams had a 14-2 record and won their divisions.
They have meet during the season and also last season in the supercup, both games where won by the Hornets.
I expect a close game, and a Hornets win.
Why?
Home field and gut feeling.

Grand River Snakes vs. Strike Team
It’s surprising that Strike Team (16-0) is only a 8 point favorite according to Beckos over the Snakes (14-2). RZA does see Strike Team way ahead, but that’s not a surprise, ELO does favor old teams.
Strike Team has lost his Supercup game and is at the moment at 95% moral, but that should be no issue until Saturday. The Snakes are 100% already.
I do expect a good game here and also a closer one, but still a higher margin than the 8 points from Beckos.
Strike Teams was so far THE dominating team in the league and honestly I think I feared they will meet my team in the conference final.
Of cause things can happen, but those can’t be predicted.
Strike Team wins.

Panteras Assassinas vs. Paxtang Black Panthers
I think the Assassinas will lose here.
The Panthers (15-1) where always my favorite for the conference game and they have played a good season, while the Assassinas (11-5) had to dig themselves out of a hole to win the division (which they did quite good), but struggled in some crucial games.
The teams meet this season and the Panthers win on the road a close game, now we will see a Panthers home game.
Both teams are out of the Supercup (The Panthers lost against my team on Monday, close game, and I was the lucky winner) so they can concentrate on that game.
Beckos sees the Panthers up front with 11 points, which is a good margin I think.
Overall I think the Assassinas just have slim chance to win this, they need to play perfect.
Since perfect games do come not very often, I pick the Panthers.

If my picks are right we will see as conference championship games:

Leverkusen Leopards vs. Strike Team
Berinsfield Hornets vs. Paxtang Black Panthers

That might be boring to see for each conference #2 vs #1 so let’s hope for an upset, as long as my team is not the victim.

Nice write up jack. I was pleased with how competitive my team were, which gives me some hope going into next season.

Good luck to all in the playoffs. By the way, does the home team actually get any advantage?

I have the same predictions as you, with whoever wins from Leapards vs Strike team going on to win the bowl.

Well, you could have read the manual ...

Homefield Advantage
There is a Homefield advantage added to all games except Friendlies, Friendly Cup games, Scrimmages, Relegation games and regular Bowls like the Super Bowl. There is a good chance that the team playing at home gets a 1% advantage to all skills except Physical Condition and Intelligence.

So it's not much, but could help to even the score between two teams.

I would not pick against your team. I expect to lose the game, but I do have a new playbook to throw at you to hopefully narrow the blowout I had against you earlier in the season.

Good luck!

Wow, huge game by the Snakes.

Good game, Ham, you were unlucky that my offense had so many big plays and my defense had some picks.
I think the late game INTs are based on playbook 'pass medium' or 'pass long' plays.

My defense basically quit playing after 3 quarters (which reminds me, Cowboys open their season this afternoon, woohoo!). Thankfully they did show up for the OT. If not for a missed FG....ah well, I get to play one more game before focusing on the Draft.

That was a tough game, Blood Kings did play well, but had to witness some cruel big plays from the Leopards on offense and defense. Later in the 4th were some last action pass played called by the Kings which resulted in the last few INTs and which do explain the quite high score and margin.

It was a close game and it was only decided in the 4th quarter where the Bruisers were not able to score enough or to prevent the Hornets from pulling away.

Strike Team wins.

This was a nail biter.
The Snakes led 17-7 after the 3rd quarter and Strike Team did score only a field goal in the beginning of the 4th quarter. 17-10 then.
Next Snake drive was intercepted and a few plays later did Strike Team score the game tying TD.
Snakes had a long drive after that and score a TD then, 24-17, with a bit more than 3 minutes to play.
In RZA this can be too long.
But Strike Team did made it over the field, scored a TD with 19 ticks left and send it into overtime.
The 1st drive of the Snakes came to a stop with no score, the drive of Strike Team ended with a missed field goal!
The Snakes came back on the field and were able to move the ball just enough to kick the field goal for the win.

Through the Snakes upset over Strike Team did my team go home advantage in the Conference final.

2016-09-13 17:00 Conference Championship
Berinsfield Hornets vs. Paxtang Black Panthers
RZA is not sure who will win this, Beckos does see the Hornets as 6 point favorite in this.
Both teams have meet during the season, Panthers winning quite convincing, but obviously does Beckos feature more than just the direct compare and the Hornets did rise in the rankings the past few weeks.
My take on this is, that both teams can win here, but I have a slightly better feeling with the Panthers.
I think their team is a bit better and combined with the home field advantage I see them winning 6 or 7 out of 10 of those games.
Unfortunate a pick is only this team or that team, so either 0 of 1 or 1 of 1.
Panthers for the win.

Grand River Snakes vs. Leverkusen Leopards
Our teams have meet only once during the season, giving my team the only loss on a home game.
Now we meet again, on a home game, and my team is of cause the favorite to win this again.
RZA does favor older teams anyway, and Beckos has my team with 16 points ahead.
The owner of the Snakes, GrandRiver, does expect a loss, as he stated in the forum, but that’s not 100% sure.
Of cause I will not pick against my team here, and if all things go as they normally go, my team should win, but the Snakes could win here, again.
Overall is my team stronger and should have no problems, but so was Strike Teams roster.
Anyway, even if the Snakes lose here, they had a great season, if they win, it would be huge.
My team will come to play and win.
Leopards win.

If this happens as picked, the Bowl will be
Panthers vs Leopards

And we both will join Dragons and Aliens in the Elite league.
