Leeds Celtics vs Erdington Doleys

Athos seemed to have summed it up well. Our teams on paper aren't even close. ELO, Ratings and general perception are all in favour of my opposition. And who would blame anyone for thinking that?!

Celtics have performed well in this competition. First two games were not up to their expectations but they definitely turned their tournament round and started to really show their prowess with a big win over the Accies, followed by two very convincing performances against the Munich Runners and the Blitzkrieg. They should feel confident coming into this and will look to flex muscles early to take a lead and stave off any game plan I may have drawn up.

Doleys on the other hand would have jostled under the radar had I not been so vocal throughout this tournament. In a fairly even group and losing the match (I'm still not happy about this) against the Sharks, many may have overlooked me in the quarter finals, favouring sides like the Sharks or Foxes and definitely the Bombsquad , whom had already toppled the Foxes. But by hook and definitely crook I have made it to the final. Nothing to lose and all to gain! And we all know i quite like being the underdog

It seems to be big dog vs job snob...trophy contender vs dole spender...work horse vs work averse...CELTICS vs DOLEYS

For the last time I must ask...Will the Celtics claim their place at the round table? Will the Cross Keys go wild, or the Charlie Hall mild? Will Bwadders be able to congratulate me if I outdo Houdini? We find out in just under 2 and a half hours...

Good luck and may the best Brummie win!!

Less than three hours until the big kick-off and this reporter is unable to gain access to the Celtics and Doleys Dressing rooms.

Following reports of attempted cyber-hacking of Team computers believed to contain the playbooks of both sides, the aim was to try and get to the bottom of the finger pointing. Some say that the Doleys continued giant killings can only be maintained by foreknowledge of their opponents gameplan. Others are saying that there is a strange symmetry to the stuttering Celtic victories and their opponents failures to execute their own gameplans.

On arrival today at the Stadium, both Dressing Rooms were in lockdown mode and manned not by the usual collection of rather beefy security guards, but rather by somewhat nerdy looking technicians wielding contraptions that frankly wouldn’t look out of place on the shopping channel.

This intrepid and resourceful reporter first of all tried to talk his way through ‘the entourage’ to no avail, then tried to approach the Assistant Coaches for some information in return for a 1lb bag of pork scratchings and a couple of pies (really thought that would be a winner) but no luck there either.

So finally an attempt was made to find out information via the Cheerleading squad - whom as we know, are the masters (or rather mistresses) of access all areas. A solid five mins in the Press Box conveniences to make sure of personal presentation and off to charm some information. Sadly getting lost in the bowels of the spaghetti junction stadium (named after the midlands most infamous motorway interchange), the only cheering that took place was when stumbling out into the stands a good half hour later (hence this late report) with the most attractive thing seen in the meantime was a 5 foot Rat retching into a gutter after eating what looked like leftover Groaty Dick (a local stew - honest).

By now it was too late, the Cheerleaders were out warming up, the crowds are starting to assemble and the lure of a stiff single malt and smoked salmon blinis in the Press Box is much more alluring than a pint of mild with a side order of chitlins (trust me, they look and smell much worse than they sound).

So sadly we may never know if there has been any tampering, temping or tantrums behind Office or Pub doors - but from up here in the centrally heated and well stocked Press Box, we are looking forward to a great game ….. let the excitement begin.

So what's the opinion in the UK with Prince Harry's engagement to a divorced, American, commoner?

For some reason, the royals always get a lot of positive press coverage in the states.

Indeed, or should I say, 'roight'.

Sadly I won't be home to watch the game, as I must take my daughter to her induction at a Gym in leafy Sutton Coldfield. Nothing but the best for my precious flesh and blood, who will be spending the next 3 days pounding treadmills to ensure she is in tip top shape for this weekend's British Judo championships.

Yep, should she ever mistakenly wander towards Erdington, she'll be able to see off any of the local riff-raff who would dare to consider bothering her...

I offered her a job in the Celtics' cheerleading crew, but she broke several of her team members' arms in training, and now they are too scared of her to get their pom-poms out in her presence.

Love it. I like William and Harry. Somehow, despite Charlie being batshit insane, losing their mother at a young age, and all the family nonsense that surrounded the whole sordid incident, the 2 princes have turned out to be surprisingly 'normal' and well-grounded. And they've got themselves a pair of good-looking ladies for wives - I don't care about 'common' blood, to me that merely helps bring the Royal family into the 21st century.

I am not a big fan of royal stuff, but want to add: I really like Harry and his way of doing things. Really! This "f*** the expectations" thing...
