Nobody knows

Smokescreens, Browns take Sam D at pick 1.

So every name is a smokescreen but not Sam D? Why isnt mr fumble's name a smokescreen?

Because that is who I think they will take. It is not what I would do I would go Rosen at 1.

The Giants all a will not imo be in a position to pick a QB again. I think there is a lot more talent than a top 5 pick team and if they don't bag a Franchise QB this year they won't get a shot for a few years.

The Jets will get a QB.

Then I think Cleveland at pick 4 are getting calls from a team desperate to pick that 4th QB. They will get a small ransom for that pick.

Denver could look at taking a QB at 4th and would only be moving up a place (unless the Browns have already taken a QB with the first pick - it's highly unlikely they would take 2 in the first 4 picks).
Cardinals or Chargers would be my favourites to go for it and both of them have not met expectations the last few seasons. Question is how far are their respective front offices prepared to go in mortgaging their futures to something that's no sure fire thing. Joe Montana "didn't have an NFL arm", Jamarcus Russell was heralded as one of the best Raider picks of all time (until his first game), Ryan Leaf (oh dear) was the better option than Peyton Manning ...
it's a big gamble with very high stakes.

It's a big gamble but not as big a gamble as not finding your QB. That will cost your GM and HC their jobs before long. Especially if you pass on someone who becomes the man.

Thats what YOU think but you also dont know. So Sam D is just as big as a smokescreen as the other ones. Only 1 person knows and his name is John D

Which is the whole point of this thread, us discussing our thoughts on what we think may or will happen. Full marks to Captain Obvious for making this point in case anyone reading this thought they had accidentally stumbled upon a secret internal forum for the Browns HC GM and Owner.

Wouldnt it be awesome if the browns dont get a QB with the 1st and 4th pick and go with Chubb and Ward to give the def a serious boost?

The Browns could easily trade back into rd1

with all 3 of their 2nd rd picks to at least: #8
with at 2 of their 2nd rd picks to at least: #14.

Rosen or Lamar would still be there.

Curious if Bears or Packers would answer that call.

But they wouldnt have traded Kizer a month ago if they wouldnt go for QB at #1 and/or #4.

I'd be a bit frustrated if the Pack took that, with 12 picks already it seems a bit unnecessary compared to a high pick.

On the first view yes ... but if all the top names are gone at 14, this would be an opportunity to load deep in 2nd and 3rd rd. On top the Pack could easily trade their whole 6 and 5 rounders to go up into 2nd and 3rd again. Not that bad, imo.

The Browns likely wont trade anything. They can pick 2 studs and load deep in rd 2. Trade not neccessary.

But Pats are also in the mix to be interested in moving up in day 1.
