Maybe you could create some more inner-league communications when all managers are asked to vote for the representatives for their league. And of course everybody would be invited to "help" the participating mangers against the other Regions...

Looking forward to see if this can actually replace CoC .... if so, it will be a huge improvement to the game

Great Idea. I suggest to make that a Team Event.
Like Fire vs Admirals, random Pairing, 7 Matches for every team, all win summed up, winning Region is those with the most wins and Teams get a trophy at the end of the Season.

Maybe Pairings with big ELO difference should be avoided, or Major Blowouts get ignored, don't know.

Basic idea is that every game in the Region Counts, so not the case that ONE Major Team runs the table, more the General strength of the Region is important.

I think the pairing should be based on ELO ranking. The top team (in ELO) from Fire plays the top team from Admirals, the second team plays the second one etc.
Another question is: do Elite league teams keep their "regional tag" or they are belong to "Elite region"?

The Thing is, if you Keep schedule based on ELO, the games might become predictable.
example:
3 Teams each,
League 1 has ELO-score of 1000, 900, 800
League 2 has ELO-Score of 900, 800, 700

Schedule based on ELO results in 1000 vs 900, 900 vs 800 and 800 vs 700. -> very likely 2-1 or even 3-0.

Based on random it could happen that 1000 vs 800, 900-900 and 800-700 for example. Could still be 2-1 or 3-0 but maybe 1-2.

Of cause it' snot good to have Cupcake games, but mixing Things up will help to make this a bit more interesting.

And Elite .... not sure, but I guess it would be best to link them to the origin Region or to let them Play a similar tournament Elite-only, so Division vs divison .... But I'm not a fan of that Kind of Scenario.

The question is of cause who will participate. ALL? All Playoff Teams of last Season, best 16 Teams ... I would love to see all, because that spices the Thing up.

This is a very unrealistic example: Fire ELO avg - 865, Admirals ELO avg - 928. So it's far closer than in your example. The difference in ELO points between the 1st, 2nd... 8th teams from those regions: 143, 25, 83, 69, 46, 16, 3, 12.

I meant from the database point of view. Of course I would like to see Elite league teams playing for their regions.

What do you mean by all? It should be 4 Elite + 32 1.1 teams imo. 2. leagues could screw all the thing because they are filled very differently.

I did put in those more extreme number to make the example more obvious. By seating based on ELO I think this could result in an Advantage for the better Region with higher ELO average. But if such Format would come to Play, this should be discussed more in Detail or Peter should decide.

What I meant with the Elite Teams is, that I could Imaging to handle them in two ways.
1. add those up to 4 Teams to the origin regions and let them Play.
2. treat them as seperate Region as well and let them Play only inside the elite itself. Why? because those Teams are very strong and letting them Play inside the Region would eventually spoil the fun for the other Teams and would spice up the competition in Elite itself.

But 2. Option is not really a good one from my Point of view. Still it exists.

And regarding the amount of Teams participating it's clear that 100% might lead to BOT games which should be avoided and I don't know whether the Intention for the Exchange of the CoC is to have more Teams playing a meaningful tournament or just to Exchange the Modus operandi but Keep the amount of Teams. If the amount of Teams should stay the same, this would mean a selection of Teams is only allowed to Play, which I personally would not like to have.
It should also be avoided, if only a selection is taken, that always the same Teams are in the mix, so likely the stongest ones and longplaying ones, because that will put again a rift between the newer Teams and the older Teams.
And at last, there should be also a solution for the Level 2 Teams.

The Region v Region Friday Tournament will work best if Pete's restructuring of the league is done as Level 2 will become more evenly spread with the single Level 2 league in each Region. This being done on a league basis where each region plays the other region once over 7 weeks.

Plus you could still have a CoC Competition as well as there are enough Fridays in the season from Draft Day 3 to CoC Final. The CoC Competition takes 6 weeks now and will still take 6 weeks on Pete's league restructuring.

Obviously any Bot v Bot or Manager v Bot games would not count towards the Region score in any Region v Region total score.

Generally targetting matches based on ELO Score would still mean that the majority of Elite Teams will still play each other based on their original regions, the other way of doing it would be to have the previous season Elite teams being ranked 1-4 for their region and the draft order for level 1 and 2 teams being the other ranking whereby Draft number 32 in Level 1 is rank 5, being the Bowl winner, to Draft number 1 being ranked 36 and likewise from level 2 where Draft number 32 is ranked 37 and so forth.

Just my thoughts on this interesting discussion.
