No, since this phrase was put into public by Mr. Hamill himself, on a quite remarkable day in last years autumn.

The final stretch. There's a lot in play for these last two games.

Let's break down what we know, or are almost certain about.

The Bridges will be the 1 seed in the AC. Magpies will represent Admirals. 6 teams are competing for the final 4 spots.

If the Mascots win out against a bot and Sonderborg they will likely overtake the Lions if they lose one of their last two. The Falcons need a whole lot to happen to make up for their deficit.

In the NC, The Pirates will have a bye week. The top 5 are set, and have been set for while other than seeding. 4 teams are fighting for that last spot with two of them playing eachother in the last game of the season and each team (other than DC) playing at least one game against current playoff qualifiers. (Kraken plays 2) If the Kraken loses both, they are cooked. If they win one and everyone else goes 1-1 they are in. If the Ravens win out, they are likely in, same with DC. The Stars need the Kraken to lose both and keep their PD advantage assuming they don't beat the Bobbers. If they manage that win, then they are in great shape.

There's an exciting 8 teams currently at 9-5. Those teams are fighting for 6 playoff spots.


1. (12-2) Salt City Pirates (1)
A surprise loss to the Lions after securing the division by beating the Malones. As long as they don't lose both remaining games, this team will receive a bye week.

2. (12-2) The Masked Ducks (2)
Incredible 4th quarter comeback against DC locks up Sea Devils for the Ducks. Ducks v Bobbers on Tuesday will determine who gets a bye and who doesn't.

3. (11-3) Willemstad Bridges (3)
Very unlikely the Bridges aren't the 1 seed for the 2nd season in a row. Where's Pat Riley?

4. (12-2) Chelt Nam Bobbers (6)
They embarrassed the Squid and have positioned themselves on top of the league at the moment. Ducks tomorrow is to earn a bye week, assuming he can handle the Stars again.

5. (11-3) Home Malones (4)
Couldn't keep the streak alive against the Pirates and will be the top WC team again in the NC. At the moment a rematch against the Blitz seems very likely.

6. (11-3) San Diego Blitz (5)
A surprise loss to Bretzfield puts the Blitz out of the bye week discussion. Now it's just a question of which WC team do they play?

7. (9-5) Baltimore Ravens (12)
"The Ravens are still in it, but need some help." This team was up to the challenge, and got the help they needed. They still need to handle DC to end the season to avoid relegation and are right in the thick of the playoff race. I almost put them at 10, but just couldn't find a way.

8. (9-5) TigerCats (7)
"6 wins in a row before falling to the Hounds." Then they lose 2 of 3. They beat PR Chaser to take the division lead, but they kept pace. Game 2 to end the season will determine the division winner and possibly who gets a bye week.

9. (8-6) DC Washingtonians (8)
"Ducks twice in 3 games will likely determine the division championship." What a heartbreaking loss. Not only are they at risk of not making the playoffs, but the Ravens have now passed them and have them looking at relegation. Last game against the Ravens is probably the most important game in the league.

10. (9-5) Diorite Lions (9)
"Next 2 games are Falcons/Hounds. Will they establish dominance over Claymore and enter the playoffs again? Or will they fa l t e r down the stretch and make it a very entertaining race?" Well, they answered that one. Lost both games to the division rivals, but came storming back with a big victory over the Pirates. They are currently hanging on to the last WC spot and a very important game against PR Chaser tomorrow would ensure they make the playoffs.

11. (9-5) Hell Hounds (10)
Currently the Claymore leader after defeating the Lions. This will get very complicated if the lose to the Falcons to end the season. A 3 way tie atop the division would not be surprising.

12. (9-5) PR Chaser (11)
"TiCats Tuesday is the big test to see if they are capable of stealing the Fire championship, and a playoff berth." It went poorly, but they have another shot to end the season.

13. (9-5) Spacebar Kraken (14)
They got the help they needed, now they have to beat either the Pirates or the Malones to have a shot. They can't drop both with the Stars, Ravens, and DC all ready to pass them.

14. (9-5) BobBoy Magpies (15)
4 wins in a row now have them back on top of Admirals. Now they wait to find out which seed they end up with and who their opponent will be.

15. (8-6) Free Agent Mascots (13)
Mascots have lost 4 of their last 5 and find themselves as the current 7 seed. If they beat Sonderborg they have a good shot to sneak back into the postseason with the teams ahead of them playing eachother.

16. (8-6) Saker Falcons (16)
"Lions/Hounds are basically must wins to avoid relegation now." Swept the season series against the Lions and find themselves just one game behind, but a sizeable PD deficit is going to be tough to overcome.

17. (9-5) Rio Stars (18)
Hung on against the Werewolves to secure Elite for next season. They need some help to make the playoffs, but it's possible. It's actually likely if they find a way past the Bobbers, but without that win they need the Kraken to get 2 losses, to maintain the 8 point PD lead on the Ravens, and DC can't win out.

18. (7-7) Dumbarajko Elephants (17)
The only team in the league at 7-7, the Elephants look poised to give it another shot next season where they'll likely face off against the Terriers who will certainly be looking for revenge.

19. (6-8) 2020 - RETURN OF THE JEDI (19)
At this moment they'll need a huge win against the Elephants to avoid relegation. At least they received a lot of beer for undisclosed reasons from undisclosed donors.

20. (6-8) Sønderborg 84-pounders (20)
Couldn't get the division wins needed to compete. They'll head back to a very competitive D1.

21. (6-8) Juggernaut (21)
Lost 2 of 3 to let the Dumplings back in it. They have a 15 point lead and beating Rome to end the season will officially eliminate them if the Dumplings don't do it first.

22. (6-8) Bonecrushers (22)
The unpredictable BoneDomers will get relegated, but they'll finish 8-8 after stealing one from the Ticats

23. (6-8) Norfolk Dumplings (24)
"It's unlikely they make up 2 games and 50 points to avoid relegation." And yet, they are 15 points away from doing so. They can eliminate Rome tomorrow, but closing the season against the Bridges in a must win is a tough task.

24. (5-9) Rome Centurions (23)
They aren't dead yet.... but very close. They need to beat both Juggernaut and the Dumplings while hoping they each lose their other game.

What a wild season for the Werewolves. Beat 2 top 5 teams and get relegated with 5 wins.

26. (3-11) Bretzfeld Bandits (26)
3-3 in their last 6 including a win over the Blitz.

27. (2-12) Poznan Knights (27)
Still hanging onto the 4 spot.

28. (3-11) Jackalopes (28)
Jumped all the way to the 6 spot in the draft.

29. (1-13) BETIS SANPOL (29)
PR Chaser was less kind in the rematch, hope you have a solid 3rd pick.

30. (3-11) Social Distance Runners (30)
The Runners surprise win costs them a draft spot. Hope it was worth it!

31. (0-14) Helsinki Gangsters (31)
Still showing The Gangsters as the #1 pick.

Quite an awesome season! I said sometimes here that the schedule helped me a lot. But after winning the Werewolves twice in this season I think my stay on Elite was well deserved. The playoffs are so close yet so far. Only two wins. But I can not beat the Bobbers on the last match. And I am not even sure about a win today. That loss against the Ravens is still on my mind...
