To the original idea... i vote no. It seems a great idea at first but when i sit down and think about it I dont really see the benefit other than playing around with a lesser roster and playing games.

The idea that a YA player should get experience for playing against other YA players to me is out of the question. I dont care what or how well a player does in "college" football... once you enter the pro game your experience is 0.

And then when I think further about it.. are players that "win" in a YA vs YA game given more skill bonuses? Are the teams themselves given more income due to ticket sales or whatever? From what I'm hearing this should be an option only element but if managers are given bonuses for participating than this isn't really option only.

I DO however like SFniner's suggestion in direct response because of its minimalist nature. I'd take it a step further in that the "owner" had to take atleast one YA player from every manager under their region with no more than 3 from any particular manager (this is a qualifying number as I dont really know the number of players needed to form a viable YA team in WC form nor do I know the number of participating managers in each region). I think the bonuses per YA for this cup should be minimal as I will always feel the primary factor in Youth development should come from the individual YA owner, but like SFniner said... it'll be mostly for bragging rights.. and for individual player Bios (which is another suggestion i've thought of) it could be said "John Doe was a participate in Youth WC #1...

I like this suggest over all but if getting all mangers invalid with only player from your youth academy is possible.

just do to thing base it on a 7 on 7 game and allow the youth academy player to go both way with out penalty.
That way every one who got 7 youth can play.

Then let the games very slowly incenses experience but allows individual skills to improve game by game.

There is another sim i play that runs both pro and college games for a fee every 6 months. It took a season to get draftee's up to pro standards but it works fantastic, and there's a big waiting list for teams.

If current coaches here are given first refusal, the rest will follow IMO. It would be a fantastic add on feature here.

i dont think theres enough days in the week for this to become relevent i certainly wouldnt use it, i dont have enough time to keep up to date with what i have now most of the time and i only watch maybe 1 game a week because they come along everyday almost you dont have time to get that anticipation built up to make it a must watch game, if much more gets added il have to reconsider if its worth all my time bothering

Firstly, I'd like to see position specific experience.

Then, any player in the YA gets exp for the position he is set at for any given training session.

He could get exp at a rate based on INT and TW, and also based on what sort of a college/school he is playing for. A division 4 player would gain exp at a lesser rate than one in div 1.

I would think a player entering the seniors after 4 or 5 years in the YA training at a set position should have exp for that position from about 1 - 3. After 4 years as a starter in the seniors he should be at about 4.5 and after 5-6 years as a starter, 5* exp. Again, this would vary based on plays, INT and TW.

Like coaches, it should be exponential also i.e. increase fast early and then taper off later.

I think players should come out of the YA with PC of about 80.

I do not like the idea of a seperate league. Too much.

There was an earlier thread that suggested that at each Training update, each Youth should gain PC and TC by 1%, BUT capping at about 70-75% (the thread fell away before it got discussed much further).

Is this the right time to suggest it again, maybe with an additional suggestion that each season rollover, any Youth who has been in the Academy for more than half a season (for example) gains half a point of experience with another cap at whatever........ 1.5/2.0 (e.g) ?
