I cold care less about listing who right and whos left.

I just wish to be able to list the subs for different spots on the field rather than just it picking from a very vaug list with the very basic depth charts we have now.

So expmple

TE 1 WR 1 WR 2 WR3 WR 4 OT 1 OT2 OG 1 OG 2 Oc 1

DE 1 DE 2 DT 1 DT2 NT 1 MLB 1 MLB 2 OLB 1 OLB 1 CB1 CB 2 CB3 FS1 SS1

I would like to see this type of idea implemented. I find it very frustrating that I cannot control which of my players ends up in what position.

I know this is a simulation game, but in real American Football, the LOT and the ROT (for example) have very much different jobs, and different skill sets. Same is true for guards. If the DC had slots for LOT, LG, C, RG, ROT, TE, WR1, WR2 - - and the defense had LDE, DT, NT, RDE, ROLB, MLB, LOLB, CB1, CB2, CB3, SS, FS

I don't see how that would lead to an exploit. If you scout your opponent and they seem to favor runs to the right side of their line you can adjust your depth chart to put your best run stoppers at the proper position to be in the best position to stop those plays. If you chose to not spend the time to scout, then you'd deserve to have the other team run all over you - - all game long.

I would agree if the simulation was live. Then you could even react on such things, but here you can't.

I still don't see how Pete. Since both the offense and the defense would be able to slot their players to counter the tendencies of the other team - - how could this be exploited?

but you're not "countering" anything ....you're actually "guessing".... there is a massive difference.

You're guessing, for example, that a team will line-up with the star WR at WR/R and not WR/L .... i.e. because of the lack of real-time tactical changes/real-time substitutions ... you're countering nothing and guessing everything.

btw .... this is not off-topic ...this is very on-topic, but ...if anyone is in any doubt about how ridiculous "one-sided formations" can become, I can give you a link to a match in -TOG-where Australia try to 'counter' (i.e GUESS) which side the UK will "dark wing" to .....

Net Result ? .... Australia have this (backfield) defensive formation :-

CB/L, CB/L, FS/L, SS/L

i.e. the right sided players are busy talking to the cheerleaders !!

I'm not suggesting that could ever happen here in RZA (Pete would never allow it) .... but I think it illustrates the 'dangers' and 'problems' of one-sided formations combined with ' position specific' depth charts i.e. WR/L WR/R etc.

I still don't see how that is an exploit. Because it is fair to both teams. To me an exploit is where one team can take a massive advantage.

If Im on offense, I need to "guess" which side my opponent will place his/her best CBs (in your WR example), best DL's and best LBs.

If I am the defender, I need to "guess" which side the team is most likely to run to, pass to etc.

Pete - feel free to tell me to just shaddupaboutit .. and I will.
