OK so last night i entered my second league on ESPN - standard format league and this time copped for the 10th pick - polar opposite to League 1 where i had the #1 pick.
Here are the results : R1 - Pick 10 - Chris Johnson R2 - 11 - Matthew Stafford R3 - 30 - Darren McFadden R4 - 31 - Adrian Peterson R5 - 50 - Miles Austin R6 - 51 - Brandon Lloyd R7 - 70 - Jermichael Finley R8 - 71 - Jahvid Best R9 - 90 - Torrey Smith R10 - 91 - Matt Schaub R11 - 110 - Reggie Wayne R12 - 111 - Ravens DST R13 - 130 - Eagles DST R14 - 131 Leonard Hankerson R15 - 150 - Brent Celek R16 - 151 - Garrett Hartley Analysis No real shocks in R1, though Calvin Johnson was taken 2nd overall; Chris Johnson dropped to me at 10 after Jimmy Graham was taken at #9 (the same manager also took Vernon Davis in R2 and Antonio Gates in R5!) which altered my strategy; i was gonna go for a WR heavy start, with Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald my two inital picks, but i felt there was enough upside with CJ to grab him, and then take Stafford (Brees, -G.O.A.T- and A-Rod all gone) so i could concentrate on RBs and WRs I feel liked i messed up in R3 and 4 - i took Darren McFadden impulsively - i normally find it easy to pass on the very talented but injury prone Back and then my laptop froze and it gave me Adrian Peterson when i was actually going to take Julio Jones - these 2 picks will either make or break this team IMO. Miles Austin and Brandon Lloyd were reasonable pickups in 5&6 - tempttation to pass on Lloyd and take either Ahmad Bradshaw, Reggie Bush or BJGE to use as FLEX RB and then offer DMac or AP as trade bait for a decent WR - but knowing how hard it is to get a trade done i relented for Lloyd - if Jahvid Best performs i still have that option anyway. The rest was just roster fillers and backups - i like having 2 good DSTs for matchups, Schaub a decent alternative for Stafford - Reggie Wayne a sentiment pick more than expectant - but overall im not happy with this team and dont expect it to be a potential league winner, whereas i do with League 1. |
