One of the main ways to get new players in most sports is by trading!im really surprised that this isnt a feature on this game.

Yeah - wondering if there's a reason why we couldn't put a player up for trade and allow people to bid with their players and/or money? And the manager then chooses what he believes to be the best deal.

Problem is, how do the bidders know which bid the owner likes best - so maybe the owner needs to indicate which offer he presently likes best. Then that means this would all need to take place in a given period of maybe 10 or 15 mins.

or

Put a player up for trade and let the bids role in. Again, you indicate which offer you favour and then, when and if it suits you, you accept the trade. Or you can just leave everyone hanging forever if you like - at the expense of your reputation!

How so?

How is using a player and or money, any different to just money?

Ah, I suppose the owner could accept dud players for his good and vice-versa. But I'm still not sure how people could cheat - either the owner or bidder gets dudded in this case. What am I missing?

I can think of no difference as far as cheating goes. Now, a friend could set up a cash cow team and pay big money for dud players so I cannot see how player trading would worsen anything.

You can't pay big money unless someone else is bidding. So, it would take a minimum of 3 teams to do the cheating. Whereas with trading, it would only take 2 teams to cheat.

You know what a better suggestion would be? Let's have a thread that links to all threads of the topics that come up all the time. Seriously.

Trading has come up oodles of times. So has TM bidding changes. That way a manager can read up on all the "epic" suggestions and have that master thread stickied with a "read this before you make a suggestion." If you have played GLB before then you probably know what I'm talking about.

This.

Make a "Epic" or a "Official Suggestion List" and like sfniner posted stickied lock it, people can read and catch up on what has and hasn't been suggested.

As for the OP i am a supporter of the idea to bring in that feature, but many are not, so catch up on some threads and try to bring something positive to the discussion.

Found these two.

Trades Thread I
Trades Thread II

the only real thing i think would be so difficult about the trading is the difficulty in hard coding a trade deadline where at a certain date, you cannot trade players anymore, although this if coded in could completely do away with the TM as you could just trade for the players that you want but only up to a certain point in the season
