Whether the Cardinals take Geno Smith or not, I think depends on combine performance. Also, there is a rumor that Arizona is going to acquire Alex Smith from the 49ers - - which would make a lot of sense for both those teams.

I see no reason to trade for Alex Smith. He is no upgrade compared to Kolb.

So Alex Smith is heading to Kansas. The prize seem to be a little bit too high. The Niners will hold 14-15 draft picks this season. So it seem to be likely, that they will try to trade for another player or try to trade down in the draft.

The situation in the Top 10 in the draft seem to be very interesting now. The Bills are high on picking a QB, the Cardinals need one too and the Raiders and Browns also don't have a franchise QB. So i think that Geno Smith will be picked in the Top 10. Perhaps the Bills will try to trade 2-3 spots up to draft before the cardinals.

The release of Adrian Wilson is a very sad story. But that is the business.

Now there are a lot of big SF avaiable in FA (Reed, Landry, Wilson, Woodson, Golston)

It seem to be that the Cardinals plan to get some FA this week.

Next important cut: Beanie Wells was released today. Not so surprising, but Ryan Williams is now the only RB on the roster.

I read at NFL.com that the Cards are interested in Reggie Bush or Mendenhall. If these rumors are right the release makes sense. It makes sense too cause they have no elite QB and there is no really elite one in the draft for me too. So look for the running game could be the right way.

Mendenhall agreed to a 1 year deal.

No real upgrade compared to Wells. Wells would have earned around 1 Mio this season, but I have doubts that Mendenhall will play for less money.

Rhodes has been cut. Supposedly will free up $6 mil in cap space.

Don't like it personally, Kolb should have been dealt with first.

This is a little shocker for me. I understand that the new coach turn every stone around. I hope I see the big picture at the end of April.
Who will be the next player? Kolb?

Yeah, create a lot of cap space, but have no players any more

I don't understand why they release all the veteran leaders and reset the defense and not the offense. They lost on defense Wilson, Rhodes, Lenon, Groves, Toler and only Stephens-Howling, Doucet and Wells on offense. It will be very interesting how the Arizona Defense will look this season. I fear that now one in the NFL will fear our Defense.

The Cards added Jerraud Powers (CB), Drew Stanton (QB) and Lorenzo Alexander (LB) today. Seem to be all cheap solutions for more depth but no quality starters.

Arianse anounced that Geno Smith is missing the "WOW"-factor. I think he is right and the cards won't take smith at #7. It seems to be obvious that they want to aquire a LT. But what happen if, Fisher, Joeckel and Johnson are gone before #7? If Smith is still on the board, they might to trade down in the draft. The Bills behind them might look for Smith, so pick 7 might have some value. May be for the Jets at #9. Trading 2 spots down and getting another pick in the second or 3rd round would be great.

But I think Smith will go in the top 5. I would be not surprised if the Jags or Raiders pick him.
