are there any other Denver fans here?? I liked the idea of the Lions and Falcons post so i thought i would start one for my beloved Broncos

I caught the highlights of our demolition of the Bears, and i gotta say we seemed quite good!

Alot of mixed opinions on Mannings first match, but i thought for an athlete of his age to come out and play like he did after the injury was tremendous.

Don't think im getting overly excited yet, the Raiders and Chiefs are in a far better position than we are. Once our WRs and TEs get used to the ball being thrown at their hands, i think we got a good shot at the playoffs again.

Are you the replacement referee from the Ravens/Falcons game? He couldn't distinguish between the Falcons and Cardinals, too.

Is it so difficult? OK, both are bird and play in red, but this is no excuse!

I'm not so much a Broncos fan, but I do like to appreciate quality players when I see one on any squad (even the Raiders .....not that they have any quality players though )

On the Broncos, I really like Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller .... the Denver defense looks to be getting better all the time.
I also rate Demaryius Thomas although I wish he'd change his christian name, I can't ever spell it and neither can my spellchecker .... why can't he call himself Elvis aswell !

Dumervil is a demon, we really miss his presence on the line when he gets injured, like 2 years ago.

Miller has a great future ahead of him, and i only hope he gets to superstar status with us! Another one i'm looking forward to watching is Rahim Moore at safety. His college career was great and did not do too bad for his rookie season. Now with the retirement of "The Dawk" we need all the help we can get.

Broncos get no love from me - i personally think they are a shambles of an organisation and a season or two away from the #1 draft pick.

I see them no better than 6-10 this season and regressing quickly.

Come on Coach Mike, there's no reason to be carrying a grudge all this time.

But seriously, much as I love the Bronco's I think 10-6 is about right. Still, that should be enough to win the AFC West and make a nice little playoff run.

hahaha...Shanahan wouldnt have given you credit for 6 wins!!!

10-6 though? seriously?

By the time you get to your bye week in week 7, you will have done well to win 2 games - the only games i see you with chances in are your first 2 divisional games - v Raiders and @ Chargers - Steelers, Falcons, Texans and Patriots are all beating you - and i dont see you winning in San Diego myself either.

So thats 1-5.

After the bye week you get Saints at home and two difficult road trips to Cincinatti and Carolina. 2-7 at best.

Then it softens a little - you have your remaining 4 divisional games - ill give you 3 wins there, a winnable game against Tampa Bay, cast iron loss against Baltimore and a home time against the Browns.

OK - ill adjust my prediction from 6-10......and upgrade it to 7-9 absolute best and by the time youre playing the Browns, you'll be crying that you let Tebow go and wishing Manning had gone to the Dolphins after all!

ah, a Tim Tebow fan.

Don't get me wrong I like Tebow, he seems like a nice enough kid. I wish him all the luck as a Jets special team player and gimmicky situational QB. He should do well with that. If fact, if we could have kept him in those roles I would have loved it if the Broncos kept him.

Problem is all his fans. Not football fans mind you, just Tebow fans. Total circus and distraction for the whole team and since he doesn't have the skill set to be an every down QB in the NFL he's not worth the hassle.

I've got them more like this:

Early part of the schedule is brutal, whole schedule is tough. I think both at home against Pittsburgh and away at San Diego are winnable games. Pit will be without Mendenhall and likely Wallace for Denver's the home opener. I'm also not sold on SD being any good this year. They were 8-8 last year and I don't think they improved their team. Most likely something like 2-4 or 3-3 at the bye.

Rest of the Season you've got 3 very bad match ups with NO, CIN, and Baltimore. Rest of them are winnable match ups. So if Den can pull out 1 of the 3 hard ones and go 5-2 in the rest you've got 10-6. Maybe realistically more like 9-7 overall. Probably still enough to win the AFC West (which is obviously a weak division).

Most certainly 10-6 or 9-7 is dependent on Manning being good. He doesn't have to be as good as he was at his peak, but he'll still need to be good and likely carry the team at times. With him getting just one series in that first preseason game at Chicago the jury is still out on if he can still do that.
