Good teams leave the game every season. Claymore 1.1 lost: Tigres de Nancy, Claymore Knights, Braves, and Dyniak this season. Two of them were Sept 2011 teams, and one started 2 months later. That is four fewer teams you have to catch up to.

Though this is true, I don't think the design of the game should take this into account. I hope in the long term it doesn't need to.

what i can see is people would like to reward those who stick around. What we dont want to see is a quick fix to allow someone to go from noob to the best in the league in three clicks.

something as simple as 95% PC from completion of the license would help the new boys. what I dont get is that an established manager is campaigning for the noobs but 90% of noobs I see join the league only log on once. They wont see the benefits of these changes at all so in effect we will still get the same number of bots each season.

I dont mean to be disrespectful but it will appear that way but every suggestion from the OP is all about making things easier.

for example
1 the engine scouts the oppositions playbook and reacts to it in advance even over riding the existing playbook
2 only serious teams can trade
3 scouting an entire team in one click
and now we have going from noob to #1 in no time

im sorry but the #1 status is something to be earned not just given away.

Is floyd mayweather the number 1 pound for pound boxer because he has faught no one?
Is Usain Bolt the number 1 sprinter because he can only race the regulars from the digby?

Take the OPs nations top sports of cricket and Rugby Union as an example. Its only recently Argentina has become really competitive on the world stage of RU. They have being playing on an international level for over 20 years yet there are only 9 other nations to compete against.

Cricket Bangladesh cant compete on the test stage in spite of having test status for over 7 years and who else is above them? England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka. Thats the competition.

But in a league with 768 other teams they want to go from also rans to top dog in no time? Not a chance you want number 1 status earn it like everyone else has to. Sfniner isnt number 1 he lost the two major bowls to majalorca pigs last season yet he isnt complaining. How many draft players does he get to go from #2 to #1?

I rest my case. I could go down another route and in spite of me sampling the delights of the digby tonight I wont.

Like many others, you confuse speed with ease.

This will only allow a cluey manager to get to or near the top faster. He still needs to be better than hundreds of others who will also have a substantial experience edge in the nuances of the game.

The concept here is simple - how long should people be expected to twiddle their thumbs and watch the grass grow?

Umm, why is SF asking me my age?

And what are you so upset about?

because youre acting like a kid you want it and want it now. those older than 25 have usually learnt that to be the best you have to earn that right not given to it on a plate

do what everyone else does in every single sport..... learn from experience.

Does Tom -G.O.A.T- go from learning to throw a ball to superbowl MVP in a week?

No, not by design, of course. You're absolutely right. But it happens in every game that I've played...top managers lose interest, get mad (or get married, or graduate college) and quit. So when you look at the teams ahead of you, you can be pretty sure 30+% of them will go away on their own.

Some games are set up so that 'seniority' rules, and new managers have little or no chance to ever reach the top tier. RZA gives you some good tools (drafts and tactical options, to name two big ones) to make it possible to challenge the older teams in a reasonable time. Well - we probably disagree about what a reasonable time is.

Compared to Madden - yeah a RL year is not reasonable. But compared to other free on-line sports management games, it really is.
