lol, dude, you can't buy a ring here. I am #2 in spending on the TM all time and have 0 rings. No, I annually put out quality teams and always go to the playoffs. I lose because of my tactics vs another team. If you could buy a ring, then me and turtle would have them all.

#1 on the buyer list has a league trophy in season 2 when we just started. His spending did little to get that trophy.

#2 I have went to the finals a couple of times, made the finals in the SC and CoC. Yet I have 0 wins in all of those finals.

#3 has one league championship in season 3

#4 has one league championship in season 4

I question if you could really but a trophy in season 3.

Spending money does not equal championships. lol.

It's not about buying a ring. It's about having a even bigger gap between elite teams and the others. The gap is there already, and it naturaly takes it's time to close in, but now with this FA flooding, it will take even longer for new teams to come even slightly close to the elite teams.

Like a Salary Cap, but as salaries are kinda "fixed" in RZA, it would be a Purchase Cap.

Every team would be allowed to spend (say) $30mill per season on buying players (that $30mill was just a figure off the top of my head....just as an example).

How a team spends its $30mill Purchase Cap is entirely up to its manager. But once reached, a team can't make any more player purchases.

It would make a manager think twice before putting in ultra high bids, out of the reach of all but a handful of players.

It would put bidding on an even footing for EVERYONE regardless of Division, as all managers would have the same Purchase Cap restraint.

It would instantly devalue every player, and drive prices down.

It could be instigated almost immediately, and I believe it would have a great (positive) effect on the game, making it more fun and more about managing your team than trying to buy a Superbowl team

Philadelphia did that 2 seasons ago in the NFL...look at them now!!

I posted on another thread some possible benefits. I think the knee jerk reaction is to run around screaming with a bucket on your head while the house burns down.......why!!!!!!!!!!!?????!?!?!?

I think I laid out some reasonable possibilites in that post that may calm some people. We need to give it a little time before losing our minds. lol

Just because I disagree with this doesn't mean I am having a "knee jerk reaction" or I am "to run around screaming with a bucket on your head while the house burns down".

I saw this news feed earlier, after giving it some thought, my opinion is it will bring more bad things then good. So I like to state my opinion, not by posting in caps or making a mockery of the idea, but to expose my concerns. You like the idea and I respect that, but I happen to dislike it, and I exposed my concerns over it. Plain and simple.

No, they "broke the bank" with their Dream Team, and going "all in", only to have won a mind numbingly disappointing 12 games in 2 seasons since.

Exhibit A showing you can't buy a championship.

I actually thought long and hard about the new FA thing before deciding that I believe it's a detrimental step for small to medium teams, and for RZA in general too.

I honestly believe that a Purchase Cap would benefit everyone and make the game a much more enjoyable experience, but I would welcome anyone who might see any obvious flaws or problems with the idea to point them out, as I'd be very happy to discuss the idea and its pros & cons.
